Doohamlet club notes

May 22, 2019

Seniors:  Our Senior team entertained Blayney at O’Neill Park on Monday evening last hoping to continue our recent good form.  After a bright opening which we raced into a four point lead Blayney gradually took control and ran out deserving winners 2-15 to 1-11.

Our Seniors are once again at home on Friday evening with Carrick as visitors.  Throwin 8pm.

Reserves:  Our Reserve team had a great win on Friday evening last with a comprehensive victory over Monaghan Harps in a Crawley cup quarter final.  Final score  3-20 to 1-12.  Cillian Walshe and Oisin O’Neill with goals in the first half always had Doohamlet in control.  Niall Connolly, Michael Marray and Emmett McManus added points to leave Doohamlet comfortable at the break 2-10 to 0-08.  The second half continued as the first with Sean Markey finishing to the net for goal No. 3 and further points from John Duffy, Cormac McKenna, Cillian Walshe, Niall Connolly and Hugh McGinn finished this game as a contest and see Doohamlet through to a Crawley Cup Semi-Final.

Monaghan Seniors:  Tough Luck to Monaghan Senior team and management when they bowed out of the Ulster Championship last weekend.  Let’s hope they put this behind them and progress through the qualifiers.

Well Done:  Hugh praise to Gavan Duffy and his hard   working crew who began work on our new playing field development.  With the recent good weather Gavan and his crew did a huge amount of ground work last week and everyone must be commended for their efforts.
