CLUB SCENE

It was a disappointing weekend for two of Monaghan’s three representatives in the Ulster club Championships last weekend with Doohamlet in the intermediate series and Emyvale in the Junior championship, making their exit at the first hurdle, while Scotstown were the county’s only success as they booked their place in the semi-final of the senior club championship with victory over Burren in Newry.

On the domestic front, there were only two games of note, the first semi-final of the Shoe City senior football league, which saw Carrickmacross defeat Latton by eight points and the final of the Euro Tech Junior football league, cup section, that saw Cremartin making amends for their demise in the final of the Universal Graphics Junior football championship when they defeated Clones to take the Dr Ward Cup and with something to spare.

FIXTURES

There are only two games at adult level listed for this weekend, the final of the Monaghan Electric intermediate football league between Donaghmoyne and Doohamlet which takes place in Inniskeen on Saturday evening at 6.00 PM and then on Sunday the second semi-final of the Shoe City senior football league when Scotstown and Truagh will battle it out in Scotstown to see who will meet Carrickmacross in the senior football league final, with that game timed for 2.00 PM on Sunday. In hurling Castleblayney hurling club take on Robert Emmets Cushendun of Antrim in the final of the AIB Ulster GAA hurling Junior club championship final on Sunday in Armagh at 1 PM.

The Acorn Life sponsored  Scór na nÓg Competition (Under 17) will be held in Tullycorbet Hall  on Saturday week next the 17th of November starting at 7.30pm sharp with competitions in Rince Foirne, Rince Seit, Solo Singing, Ballad Singing,  Recitation, Group Music and Drama. Clubs are asked to please email their entries to [email protected]  by November 12th. stating the name of the competitor, the title of the song/recitation etc and name of the GAA/LGFA club
