Reserves: The Reserves played their last league game on Saturday evening last where they played host to Monaghan Harps. This was a fairly competitive game between the sides until the final quarter where the Harps pulled away to win by 9 points on a score line of 1-19 to 0-13. In the first half Aughnamullen started brightly with a Damien Duffy point however Monaghan Harps gradually got a grip on the game and led by 0-4 to 0-1 after 10 minutes. A Sam Dooney point reduced the arrears and another Damien Duffy point left a 1 point game but the Harps scored the next 2 to go 3 up another Damien Duffy point and Sam Dooney score kept the score ticking away but the Harps maintained their 3 point advantage to lead at Half time 0-9 to 0-6.  In the second half Aughnamullen went into ascendancy when scoring 4 out of the next 5 points to leave it level after 10 minutes 10 points apiece. Our scores coming from Eugene Bannigan, Brian Mc Geough & Damien Duffy(2). However in the next 10 minutes the Harps stronger forward unit maintained an superior advantage when they scored the next 6 points to lead by 0-16 to 0-11 after 20 minutes and this scoring spree proved the difference in the end although Aughnamullen scored 2 more points from Sam Dooney & Damien Duffy to end the season for our Reserve team. Although not achieving success the team remained in the same division for another year and credit is extended to the team on achieving this.
