Team news: Dubs opt to experiment in opener

New Dublin football boss Dessie Farrell

New Dublin manager Dessie Farrell has opted for an experimental starting 15 in his first game in charge.

The All-Ireland champions travel to Longford tomorrow (Saturday) for the semi-finals of the O’Byrne Cup in what will be their first outing of the new season.

Nathan Doran, Tom Lahiff, Gerry Seaver and Michael Shiel have been all part of previous O’Byrne Cup panels for the capital men, while six of the side selected to start played in the 2017 All-Ireland U21FC final.

Darren Byrne, Cian Murphy, Andy Foley, Glenn O'Reilly and Dan O'Brien started in the win over Galway, with Chris Sallier coming on as a substitute.

Throw-in at Glennon Bros Pearse Park is at 2.00pm.
