Sympathy: Dromard GAA extends its sympathy to the Luby family on the death of Michael Luby, Cloone and formerly of Moyne. Ar dheis Dé go raibh a anam.

U20 Championship: Our U20 footballers take on Ballymahon/Southern Gaels on Sunday (20 October) in Round 2 of the Championship. Throw in at Páirc Chiarán, Newtowncashel, at 1pm. Best of luck to the players and management and all support welcome.

Leader Cup Semi Final: On Sunday, Páirc na nGael hosted the Leader Cup semi final between Colmcille and new county champions Killoe. Thank you to all those who helped out with the hosting of the game, especially to the stewards and everyone who helped around the grounds and with car parking. Congratulations to our neighbours Colmcille who won the game by 13 points to 9.

Minor Final: Commiserations to the Colmcille/Dromard Minor panel and their management and background team on their narrow defeat in the final. Congratulations to Longford Slashers.

New book: “Born to Lead” by former St. Patrick's National School Principal, Seamus McRory will be launched on Wednesday October 16th 2019 at 7.30pm in The County Library.

Dromard Healthy Club: As part of our new Autumn Fitness and Wellness schedule, a circuits class with Paul Mulligan returns on Saturday mornings from 8.30am in the Clubhouse. This is an excellent class suitable for any fitness level. New spinning classes have also commenced on Tuesdays with Edel Murray Fitness from 7pm-7.45pm and from 8pm to 8.45pm.

Longford GAA Gaelic Football Award 1 Coaching Course: Award 1 Youth/Adult (November): This course is aimed at coaches of teams from Adult to U13 and coaches wishing to attend must hold the Foundation Award for at least the last playing season (spring 2019). This course will be ran over 3 Saturdays (10 – 3:30) and 2 Thursday nights (7 - 9:30) in November and all sessions must be attended in order to complete the course and receive your Award. Lunch will be provided on the Saturdays. Places are available on a first come first served bases (provided the above Foundation requirement is met) and limited to 24 in total. Please let Tommy O’Neill or John Duffy know if you are available.
