Senior Championship Round 3: Dromard 0-9 Mullinalaghta St Columbas 0-16. Our senior footballers were defeated by Mullinalaghta in the final game in the group stages of the championship on Sunday evening. Dromard worked hard in the first half and converted some fine scores but Mullinalaghta put together good moves of their own and were efficient up front. At half time Mullinalaghta led by 10 points to 5. The Dromard points in the first half were scored by Brian McCormack (1 from play), Francis McGee (3, 2 from frees) and John Shiridan (1 from play). Although Dromard added scores in the second half from Francis McGee and Joseph Hagan, Mullinalaghta held the upper hand on this occasion and maintained their lead until the finish. With Clonguish victorious over Granard in the other game in the group, Dromard qualified for the quarter finals where we were drawn to play Emmet Óg Killoe. Team versus Mullinalaghta: Team: Gavin McNerney; Paul McGee, Niall Vance, James Mimnagh; Peter Reynolds, Pauric Martin, Conor McGauran; Bryan McCormack, Diarmuid Masterson; Ronan McEntire, Francis McGee, Bernard Sheirdan; John Sheridan, Ronan Bleakley, Joseph Hagan. Subs used: David Pettit and Emmet Masterson.
Thank You: The club would like to thank Colmcille for hosting our game against Mullinalaghta on Sunday evening and for having the pitch and facilities at Fr McGee Park in great condition.
Division 1 League: Our senior team play their final league game of the year against Clonguish at Páirc na nGael on Saturday evening (17 August) at 7pm. This is a very important game with two vital league points at stake. We ask all our supporters to come out and get behind the team on Saturday.
Junior Championship: Fr Manning Gaels 1-7 Dromard 0-9. Hard luck to our junior panel who put in a great performance against Fr Manning Gaels in the championship played at Monaduff on Wednesday evening. Dromard competed strongly throughout the match and picked off some excellent scores. With very little between the sides, a few missed chances for Dromard proved costly but the team put in an excellent performance overall and can approach their remaining games with a positive mind-set. Well done to the players and their management team of Noel Reynolds and Jimmy Kiernan. Team versus Fr Manning Gaels: Sean McNerney; Ciaran Duffy, Padraig McNerney, Conor Duffy; Gareth OHara, Michael Reilly, Kevin Jane; Fergal Berry, Darragh O’Toole; Martin McGee, Luke McEntire, Michael Reynolds; Peadar Kiernan, Peter Mimnagh, Brian Smyth. Subs: Noel Reynolds, Niall McManus, Patrick Mimnagh, Martin McStay, Conal Murphy, James Conefrey.
Junior Championship: Our junior panel is back in action this Wednesday evening (14 August) when they take on Legan Sarsfields in Páirc na nGael at 7.45pm. All support welcome.Tweet
