For Kilkenny, it all turned when Riche Hogan received that red card at the end of the first half.
Tipp with eleven different scores. O'Meara, Callanan and O'Dwyer with the goals. They have inflicted the heaviest defeat of the Cody era on Kilkenny.

Kilkenny were in the driving seat after 20 minutes, leading by 0-8 to 0-3 and having left a number of chances behind them. But they were outscored by 1-6 to 0-3 in the 15 minutes before half time and also lost a man during that defining spell.

McDonagh hit 1-4 for Galway in the first half, while Drennan contributed 0-4 for the Cats.
