County League

Glin 0-22

Crecora 1-3

We got our County League campaign off to a great start last Saturday at Páirc Uí Cathaláin with a comprehensive win over Crecora. We got off to a fine start. The Twin Towers of Lyons and Horan in the full forward line were causing all kinds of havoc with the other forwards feeding off them. Lyons kicked two points with James Wallace, Stephen Barrett, Joe Martin and Shane Culhane (0-4) also contributing fine scores.  At half time, it was 0-11 to 0-2.

The football continued in the same vein during the second half. Shane Culhane’s radar was laser sharp as he added five more long range points. Cian Culhane, Pádraig Horan, Costello and Scanlon also made their mark in the scoreboard. It was a comfortable victory in the end and the team really played for each other throughout. Midfielders Culhane and Fitzgerald enjoyed fine games around the middle, with the evergreen Costello and Fitzgerald marshalling the defence. Man of the match was Shane Culhane.

Team: Seán Lyons, Tadhg Culhane, Maurice Moore, John Wallace, Joe Martin (0-1), Paddy Fitzgerald, Pádraig Costello (0-1), Ronan Culhane, Jamie Fitzgerald, James Wallace (0-2), Shane Culhane(0-9), Stephen Barrett (0-1), Cian Culhane (0-1), Pádraig Horan (0-1), Ger Lyons (0-2). Subs: Kieran Scanlon for T. Culhane, Edmond Horan for John Wallace, Pádraig Scanlon (0-3) for G. Lyons, Eoin Woulfe for P. Costello.

In the event of Limerick qualifying for the All Ireland final this year, the club have agreed to the following method of ticket allocation: 1 ticket per adult member, 1 ticket per paid-up/active CLUB Limerick (formerly Mackey Stand) member, 2 tickets per family membership, 1 ticket per minor member. Please note that, in the event that demand is greater than supply of tickets, a draw for tickets will take place. Each form of membership is entitled to be entered into the draw once only. For example, if you are an adult member of the club and a CLUB Limerick member, you will only be entered into the draw once. This is in the interest of fairness for all.
