Shane Dowling has handed Na Piarsaigh a massive boost by declaring himself fit for Sunday's Munster club SHC final.

The Limerick All-Ireland winner was forced off with a shoulder injury in the semi-final win over Clonoulty-Rossmore 10 days ago, but insists it won't rule him out of the provincial decider against Ballygunner at Semple Stadium.

"The shoulder will be fine. I've had an ongoing issue for a long number of years now, but it hadn’t happened me in three years. Basically, the shoulder pops out and pops in," he told the Irish Independent at an AIB provincial club championship briefing in Dublin today.

"It can’t happen from someone hitting me; it can only happen by me over-reaching with a hurley. Yeah, some day it will pop out and it won’t go back in. But until that day, I'll staying going.

"The operation takes about six months to recover from, and I don’t have six months to spare – so I'll stay going."
