Laois are the Allianz Football League Division 4 champions for 2024 after brushing aside Leitrim with a 3-14 to 0-9 victory at Croke Park this evening.

Justin McNulty’s side never looked back from the moment Ben Dempsey buried in their first goal on 17 minutes, as it surged them in front and towards a 1-7 to 0-6 lead at half-time.

Mark Barry extended the O’Moore men’s lead to five a minute into the resumption before a couple of Nevin O’Donnell scores helped Leitrim to trim their deficit down to two.

A Paul Kingston score at the other end was the Laois response ahead of Eoin Lowry crashing in their second goal and, after points from Barry and Evan O’Carroll (2), they’d run up a double scores advantage (2-12 to 0-9).

Kingston's goal with nine minutes left added insult to injury for Andy Moran’s team as they ended a largely positive league campaign in disappointing fashion.
