Leitrim ladies will play no part in this summer's All-Ireland intermediate football championship.

According to report on the Leitrim Observer's website tonight, the Leitrim ladies board obtained a dispensation from the LGFA that would allow them not to partake in this year's competition.

Last night saw county officials hold an emergency meeting to discuss and agree on the LGFA Central Council's proposal and both National and Connacht LGFA were informed of the Leitrim ladies board's decision to pull out this morning.

As a result, none of the county's clubs will be able to compete in the Connacht club championships this season.

In late March, Leitrim were relegated to Division 4 of the National League on zero points after conceding a walkover to neighbours Longford in their final round game.
