Former Kilkenny sharpshooter Richie Power is hoping Sunday’s All-Ireland SHC final doesn’t turn into a shoot-out between the Cats and Tipperary.
Brian Cody’s side will look to upset 11/8 odds against the Premier men and Power feels they’ll need a rip-roaring start at headquarters to do so.
"If Kilkenny bring the intensity that they did against Limerick and can keep the foot on the pedal, Tipp will find it extremely hard to deal with it. My fear is I wouldn't like to see it turn into a shoot-out," Power is quoted saying by the Irish Independent.
"If it's a high-scoring and open game with a lot of goals, I'd be very worried for Kilkenny because of what Tipp did to us in 2016 and that's what they will try again.
"They'll try to isolate our full-back line and if they get on top in the half-back line and start spraying ball to their full-forward line, Kilkenny could be in serious bother.
"I'd be hoping that Kilkenny will be nice and compact and really turn the screw on them early on. If we do, we might do enough damage at the other end to get over the line."
