Kilkenny goalkeeper Eoin Murphy believes that if a player doesn’t have the right work ethic, they won’t be any use to the Cats’ squad.

Speaking to the Kilkenny People at the Glanbia Sponsorship launch, Murphy was adamant that all the skill in the world, wouldn’t cut it unless a player was willing to work for the team.

This is a slight look into the mindset of the Kilkenny players as Murphy stressed that you have to work for the good of the cause.

“The core values still don’t change. You have to have a serious work ethic. If you are the best player in the world and you are not prepared to work as a team player, to chase down opponents, or at the same time during a game take on a role you may not be comfortable with, then you might not be useful to the Kilkenny set up.

“At the end of the day, it all centres around hard work.”

Kilkenny host All-Ireland champions Limerick at Nowlan Park this Sunday in the third round of the NHL 1A campaign.
