Wicklow manager Davy Burke admits that he has been impressed by some of the newcomers to the squad.
Burke has handed out a number of first senior inter-county appearances in the county’s opening two O’Byrne Cup games.
And the Kildare native has been pleasantly surprised by the standard that the youngsters have produced.
“Zach Cullen making his senior debut there. I thought he was stand-out. He’s a class act. Again, Eoin Darcy, second senior game; Andy Maher, second senior game; Wayne Doyle, second senior game. Hugely positive performances all around. A lot of errors, but we’ll have to work on them,” Burke told the Wicklow People.
“Zach’s a very intelligent footballer. We’ve been impressed in training with his brain. He’s not the biggest lad in the world, but he’s physical enough for a young lad.”
