Gaelic football's greatest ever manager Mick O'Dwyer celebrates his 83rd birthday today.

After winning four All-Ireland medals as a player, the Waterville maestro managed his beloved Kerry to eight All-Ireland titles between 1975 and '86. He later led Kildare and Laois to Leinster SFC titles after both had spent decades in the footballing wilderness, while the former also reached the 1998 All-Ireland final under his tenure.

In 2011, O'Dwyer brought Wicklow on a memorable run through the All-Ireland SFC qualifiers before ending his inter-county managerial career with Clare in 2013. He is one of only three men to have managed five different counties, sharing the record with Mickey Moran and current Offaly boss John Maughan.
