50th Comórtas Peile na Gaeltachta in full swing

This year marks the 50th anniversary of Comórtas Peile na Gaeltachta which is taking place in West Kerry this weekend.
An Gaeltacht are hosting the four-day tournament which features teams from Gaeltacht areas in Mayo, Galway, Donegal, Cork, Kerry, Waterford and Meath as well as Irish-speaking teams from Dublin and Belfast.
The teams are battling it out for the senior and junior men’s titles as well as the ladies football crown, with the semi-finals taking place today and the finals tomorrow. An Ghaeltacht have opened a second pitch at Gallaros in the past year to cater for the 24 matches being played over the course of the weekend.
