Killarney Legion have advanced to the last eight of the Kerry SFC.

James O’Donoghue & Co booked their quarter-final ticket thanks to a 2-13 to 2-9 round 2 success over Mid Kerry.

2014 ‘Footballer of the Year’ O’Donoghue helped himself to 1-2 in the opening period as the eventual winners took a 2-8 to 2-3 lead into the break.

There were also wins for Rathmore, St Brendan’s Board and An Gaeltacht today.

Rathmore finished with two points to spare (0-17 to 0-15) over Kenmare Shamrocks while St Brendan’s Board coasted to a 6-11 to 0-6 victory over Shannon Rangers.

An Gaeltacht, meanwhile, scored a convincing 2-18 to 0-5 win at the expense of Kenmare District.

The defeats spell the end of Kenmare Shamrocks, Shannon Rangers and Kenmare District’s participation in the competition.

There are four games down for decision tomorrow (Sunday): East Kerry v Dingle; Feale Rangers v St Kieran’s; South Kerry v Austin Stacks; Dr Crokes v Kerins O’Rahillys.
