New Galway manager Shane O'Neill will hand debuts to three players in Sunday's Allianz League Division 1 opener against Westmeath at Pearse Stadium.

Tommy Larkins clubman Eanna Murphy lines out in goal, while Clarinbridge's TJ Brennan and Annaghdown's Diarmuid Kilcommins start at corner-back and wing-forward, respectively.

Joe Canning is named at his familiar position of centre-forward for what will be the 31-year-old's first competitive start for the Tribesmen since undergoing groin surgery after an injury sustained in the league semi-final defeat to Waterford last March.

Galway (Allianz HL Division 1 v Westmeath): Eanna Murphy; Darren Morrissey, Gearoid McInerney, TJ Brennan; Johnny Coen, Padraic Mannion, Adrian Tuohy; Sean Linnane, Tadhg Haran; Diarmuid Kilcommins, Joe Canning, Cathal Mannion; Jason Flynn, Conor Whelan, Jarlath Mannion.
