Padraic Mannion has been named Galway's new senior hurling captain.
The Ahascragh-Fohenagh clubman will lead the county in 2020 under new manager Shane O'Neill, replacing David Burke, who led the Tribesmen to All-Ireland glory in 2017.
Galway GAA confirmed the news of the two-time All-Star's appointment via Twitter this evening, with Kinvara's Conor Whelan acting as vice-captain.
26-year-old Mannion captained the Galway seniors to silverware last year when they defeated Wexford in the Walsh Cup final in which the sides will meet again tomorrow.
