Corofin captain Micheál Lundy feels that they are experienced enough to know that you don’t take any team for granted at this level.

The defending Connacht and All-Ireland club SFC champions are raging hot favourites to see off the challenge of first time Roscommon champions Padraig Pearses in the provincial decider this Sunday.

It is a no-contest in many people’s eyes, but Lundy is adamant that is not the thought process in Corofin.

Speaking to the Connacht Tribune he stressed that it would be foolish of them to take Pearses for granted in this weekend’s clash at Tuam Stadium.

“They are county champions, so obviously, you are playing a team of a high standard,” states Lundy.

“We know from our experiences, when you get on a run, confidence is a big thing in sport. So, we know it is going to be difficult.

“They are relatively unknown to us as regards having played them – we wouldn’t have had any encounters with them – but we would know a bit about them in that they have a lot of county players with Roscommon and stuff like that.”
