The Dubs Propaganda Machine - 16 Like(s)
The Dubs propaganda machine has kicked into gear proper this week with diamonds from manager Jim Gavin blaming cold play for Dean Rocks black card.

Also Charlie Redmonds attack on Jim McGuinness for calling Jim Gavin out on the Diarmuid Connolly fiasco.

And then last night I read Alan Brogan going to town on Nial Morgan for goading a player when the Dubs team under Pillar took that art to new heights them selves in the naughties.

Who's next on the Dubs propaganda hit list? Let's watch this space.

Leinster Football Championship - 10 Like(s)

Replying To Royal.Legend:  "Bar mayo dublin have been miles better then everyone outside of leinster too, that dominance will come to a end sooner or later it always does to great teams, the leinster championship through the 90s to the mid naughties was a great championship and it will be again. So keep watching and we'll show ye how to beat dublin in a championship game in Croke park."
No offense but ye are miles off this Dublin team. I saw yer league final against Donegal and ye showed flashes of good football but in fairness when Donegal got tired of playing around with ye they put the boot down and blew ye away. You say Dublins dominance is coming to an end when it's a fact they're team is actually getting younger ! I can't see Dublin regressing enough where ye'l beat them tbh. Kildare have the players that could rattle them in time but not this year, and they are the closest to Dublin in Leinster. I think Dublin will be in no mood for messing around in Leinster this summer so god help ye if ye meet.

Kerry V Dublin - 8 Like(s)

Replying To Dubh_linn:  "Ah , sure you'll probably get subsidized for that misfortune. Poor farmers can claim for pretty much anything now. The Dubs will fork out for ye again. Great little gravy train."
WE don't get travel expenses and if it wasn't for us farmers what would you put on your cornflakes in the morning , hot water?

Posters Crossing The Line - 7 Like(s)

Replying To greysoil:  "Have noticed an emerging unsavoury tone by some posters of late. Indeed, what is surprising is the posts that are being generated by users that would have appeared level headed before. There is no place for personal slights on players or indirectly on their families. Important to remember that these are amateurs giving a big chunk of their time to their counties & for our entertainment. Keep the slagging general. We never know the impact of flippant commentary. #Give respect. Get respect."
Certain people on here can't hold their temper greysoil and can't handle people having different opinions to their own. I respect everyone's opinion, I don't always agree with them and il always come up with arguments to back up my own opinion . Live and let live I always say, but it was very wrong of that poster in question to go after a 19 year old amateur footballer.

Pat Spillane - "Dubs Can Be Rattled" - 7 Like(s)

Replying To jimbodub:  "Fair play to you Pat there's a few that could do well to listen to you! Any top team with their crap together can and have rattled this Dublin team across this decade. They've also done more than rattle Dublin.. but they've convincingly beaten them! It's been hugely competitive stuff. Some of the most incredible games you're ever likely to witness. Just think back.. think of the classic games witnessed across this decade. No cake walk All Ireland's this decade! It's a pity that hasn't been adequately recognised by a sort of oddly self serving revisionism which doesn't tally up with the games themselves.. but there's an agenda there and there's a lot being conveniently forgotten about to serve it. Which again is a pity. It should be about more than that. The doom and gloomers will have you believe Dublin are almost invisible! Utter rubbish. Daft. The stats are there in black and white and Mr Spillane is spot on in this regard and this decade will continue to be hugely competitive across 2018. Just like every other Football championship across this decade. It's already been proven across NFL Div 1 2018 and Pat.. you'll be proven right across the Championship 2018."
Ye have the refs and home advantage and all the money , that's hard to beat jim.

Did Jonny Cooper dive? - 7 Like(s)

Replying To The_Fridge:  "Just seen the replays. I feel he did make a meal of it. No contact to the head however he held his head as if it was. I remember he was involved in an incident in the league against Tyrone with Mark Bradley and he hit the deck after instigating a row. Duscuss."
It was an awful dive by Jonny cooper and not a word on the Sunday game about it. Jonny is good at running into fellas and getting them booked, remember Seamus O'Shea in 2015 and Brendan Murphy this year just to name a few.

Did Jonny Cooper dive? - 7 Like(s)

Replying To jimbodub:  "Def made a meal of the contact But considering Kingdomboy up there was accusing Connolly out for "man handling" an official It's funny to see his attitude now considering McManus made much greater contact"
Number 1 Jim , McManus didn't man handle a linesman. Number 2 Jim , Ciaran branagan didn't run and barge into Connolly. So they are very different incidents and des Cahill should have brought it up for discussion tonight.

Replying To ConnollyDub:  "The point is that money did not create this team. We've just been blessed with what is an unbeliable team and manager that came together at the right time. There's a desperate attempt going on here to discredit this teams achievements. End of!!!"

Dublin' Costello throwing away the kicking tees - 6 Like(s)

Replying To tipp11:  "Clutching at straws a little bit comparing these. There's loads of incidents of do anything to win the game out there not just these....i remember Barry John Keane I think it was kicking a ball off a tee as keeper was set up to kick it out, last year in the women's game tipp were 1 point down to clare and were about to take a 45, clare player booted the ball away when everyone was set up and kick about to happen, turned out after getting a talking to the clock ran down and tipp had a single kick instead of a chance of getting on a second ball. Loads of incidents of unsportsmanlike behaviour out there."
Ya you're right but the eye gouging by Ogara has to be the worst IMO and not a word said about it?

Replying To TheHermit:  "Someone seems to be a tinder expert Kingdomboy, I wonder does the arnotts jersey ever come off, even when some poor girl has been persuaded to head back to his :D Then again he's the kind of Dublin "supporter" that prob bought his first jersey the day after the 2011 final ;D"
Do remember back in February when there was rumors that jayo had left the dubs backroom team and he told us all that jayo had been gone for months and then it turned out jayo was still with Dublin :-) That made me chuckle and showed us all how much he actually knows about Dublin football.

Happy Christmas - 6 Like(s)

Replying To Dubh_linn:  "Happy Christmas and New Year. Santa's been good already with JG staying involved for another few years. Looking forward to 2019."
I read that jim Gavin was staying on as Dublin manager on RTÉ.ie dubh linn , but they used an interesting choice of words in their report, they reported jim Gavin has signed a new 3 year contract with Dublin , why would a man giving of his Time "freely" need a contract ?

Replying To mrsme:  "Just wondering everyone's thoughts on this as a rule you cannot touch a match official? Not a hate post just wondering everyone's thoughts as I had an incident like this a few years ago."

Dublin refusing to do one-on-one broadcast interviews - 6 Like(s)

Replying To Joxer:  "Glad to see Dublin take a stand on it. If other counties are ok with Spillane being judge, jury and executioner every time one of their players crosses the line then let them continue to be sheep. It's important that the all powerful anslysts are put back in their box and denying them interviews is a subtle enough message that teams won't stand for on-the-pitch decisions being overturned by wasnabe sports hacks in the SG studio. It's nothing that Harte hasn't been doing for years anyway."
Connolly man handled the linesman not pat Spillane. The sooner ye let him take responsibility for his own actions the better it'll be for him.

Dublin's Success Not Down To Money - GAA President - 6 Like(s)

Replying To jimbodub:  "Ha.. It is priceless though when that 18 mill figure is so lazily, ignorantly and deliberately attached to football. It's just not true yet time and time again it's what is said.. Then they get frustrated when we laugh and denounce it. It really is like saying "Sure Dublin are only winning cause they have 1.6 million players to pick from" Just can't take that level of nonsense seriously and it's such a common thing to see on here over the years and this 18 mill lark goes hand and hand with it: Hurling has received a large portion of GDF The exact % I don't know but considering the take up of hurling in Dublin it's obviously received a good sized amount considering how low participation levels were. It's simply not true that 18 million has been spent on football. Hurling has equally been part of this project."
Didn't the GAA give Dublin 5 million euro to develop hurling about 6/7 years ago on top of all the 18 million!

David Brady On Kerry And Fitzmaurice - 6 Like(s)

Replying To GeniusGerry:  "I don't know what Brady said about and I couldn't care less. His analysis is so weak I find it kind of funny listening to him actually. I like Eamon but I am not gone on his column and that article about mayo looked like he was just trying to say something controversial. It was poor tbh and I think mayo people are perfectly entitled to be annoyed about it if that kind of thing offends them."
What I don't get about fitzmaurice Gerry is for 6 years all we could get out of him was the odd sound bite and since he stepped down we can't shut him up.
