Replying To Kinvara:  "I thought David Burkes in 2017 was excellent.

For a very quiet man it was a good speech, and with the recent passing of Tony Keady (with the Hill chanting his name), and the poignant remembarance of Niall Donohue, that was a special one"
The 'ones" after 'our' crowd win are always special. And really who listens to those speeches anyway. apart from the winners supporters.

Replying To ForeverBlue2:  "It was the president who made a fool of himself on the same occasion…. Paudi Clifford was 100% right in what he said… the referee was woeful on the day in question….."
And when he described Hannon, as an. Nap Piarsaigh man. Our Uactharain shoybe more careful.

Ray Silke in 1998 deserves a mention. A classy speech for a classy Galway team.
He had the presence of mind to mention Leitrim man Shane McGettigan who had died tragically in America on a building site. Shane had played for Leitrim against Galway earlier that Summer in Carrick on Shannon.
It was a nice touch and appreciated within the county at the time.

Ach, bhí Joe Connolly ar fheabhas ar fad caithim a rá.
