Replying To BarneyGrant:  "Utter nonsense, One of the reasons Dublin no longer has the sort of **** on the Hill at semi finals and finals that throw bottles down on people and start fights among themselves and others is that almost every ticket is allocated to club members, Parnell Pass holders (lifelong supporters and mostly older club members) and season ticket holders (same demographic as PP).

Who told you this by the way, and who do you think are the very big % who get tickets and where do you think they get them for finals and semi finals?

You strike me as a peculiarly biter chap, no harm to you."
Not one bit bitter… just giving an example.. Anyway tickets can be bought on general sale for most matches apart from the All Ireland final so they wouldn't be distributed through clubs.., I was at a few Dublin club championship games over the years and there was nobody at them despite several All Ireland winners in action… There would be more at a junior league match down the country….. I wonder is it because they wouldn't know it was on or have no interest when it wasn't Dublin playing

Did you ever hear of Centra or other outlets when they go on general sale for most inter county games…?

You have obviously not been at any county finals if you think there was "nobody at them." Football is always a sell out, and hurling close to. That's 8 - 10,000.

On tickets, you have no basis for your claim so, Unless you have been standing outside doing a survey. Only the people I described above could get tickets in 80% of cases for quarter final, semi and final. And those who got ticketmaster were often club members who couldn't get them in club.

I know from my own local club that there was no way they could cater for the demand from members and from parents and others who are there year round.

Not sure what mythical being you imagine only has interest in the county team, whether they are club members or not come to that.

Never mentioned county finals as that would just be another excuse to turn up on the big day… I'm talking about other games in the lead up to finals… very very few at them… point is Dublin have more people supporting Dublin than their own clubs if they have any club that is…?

There are 500,000 members of CLG. There are over 200 clubs in Dublin. That's close to 10% of the total. So do the math, bearing in mind that Dublin has clubs with as many members as some counties. So we're talking 40,000+ maybe? Even if two thirds of members in Dublin are from other counties - which they are not - you have more Dublin club members than there were Dubs at the final.

So you have no point actually. Unless you only count as valid club members those who watch matches rather than play, coach, mark pitches, drive buses, and so on and so forth? I know my own local club had about 200 people involved in games up to a few hours before a club member was togging out for the senior hurlers this Summer.

Very few of them were going to be able to spend another 2/3 hours of their day travelling to watch the county seniors. I'm sure same happens in all parts of country.
