Sunday Game

Replying To Wexfordgaa:  "They did have a camera in Wexford park …. Just the one I was sitting in front of it. It's strange no disrespect to Antrim or Carlow but that was probably the most important game of the Leinster championship should have been on at least gaa go and they are showing Wexford v Antrim next week. Dublin game should have been on sturday evening. Anyway that's the least of our problems"
No Offence taken, It was a big game in Wexford Park.
However, I would note the way Tyrell and Cusack brushed over Antrim and Carlow's performances last Sunday. They were light years apart, Carlow had Galway down to 4 points with less than 20 minutes to go, fair enough Galway pulled away at the end but it was a very strong showing by Carlow who were also missing some key players. Antrim lost by over 30 points! Carlow ended up losing by 11 while hitting to post and crossbar in the second half. Jacqui Hurley also said on the RTE Pod that it wasn't Carlow and Antrim's finest day, what did she expect, did she expect Carlow to beat Galway in Salthill?? Cusack is always pontificating about hurling needing oxygen yet when there is an opportunity to credit Carlow given their tiny resources, it doesn't happen!!

With that tone of voice I'd say the players had to be woken up to go out on the pitch…!

You are neglecting his other managerial successes, not least of all with Pobalscoil Chorca Dhuibne which has punched way above its weight in winning two All Ireland secondary schools titles (Hogan Cup) and continues to produce Gaeltacht, Daingean and Kerry players at all levels.

Fitzmaurice was in charge of Kerry for 6 years not 7 and he did manage an All Ireland when least expected.Kerry only lost 5 championship matches i/c of Kerry and 3 of those were tight games against Dublin .As Barney posted he also did great work with his school winning All Irelands no one expected. He was nt a bad manager and he is very knowledgeable.

Knowkedgeable alright.
He gives analysis on the game he's watching rather than tell you what you've already seen on camera with a few clichés thrown in.

Thanks for the correction, yes 6yrs, but he did only win 9 from 17 championship games outside Munster. Also a 64% win rate in all competitions with Kerry. Would many/any Kerry managers have a lower win percentage?

What has happened the Saturday game programme that was advertised last year.I've mentioned before that RTÉ news channel is used for sport when it suits..next Saturday full day of Leinster rugby free to air but all hurling behind the Gaa go paywall..it really is great promotion of our game..match in cork on paywall and cork/limerick is behind paywall to..I'm really surprised more isn't being made of this..don't someone mention getting Gaa go,the internet in our area is dire..I understand prov finals have to be shown but my problem with football is there are group games coming up so it'll be saturating our tvs..why havnt RTÉ explained how much they are involved in Gaa go and also croke park do the same..that's my rant over for Monday.

For anyone interested in the Eirgrid Under 20 football provincial finals, TG4 are showing all four finals live this week.

TONIGHT (Monday): Leinster Final - Meath v Louth 7.30pm

Wednesday: Munster Final - Kerry v Cork 7.30

Not sure if the Ulster Final betwen Derry & Tyrone is on Wednesday or Friday night. If it is on Wednesday this match may well be on Sport TG4 (You Tube) as it might clash with the Munster final. (Somebody please clarify)

Saturday: Connacht Final - Galway v Roscommon

You're asking the wrong questions that you can easily find the answers to.

He won All Irelands as a player and a manager. He managed a schools team to All Ireland glory. His voice, a bit like Cora's, rarely gets animated and many wrongly judge his punditry skills based on him sounding a bit boring. He's much better craic than he seems, heard him on some podcasts.

My question for you is who are the better qualified as a Sunday Game football pundit than Eamonn Fitzmaurice?

Ogie Moran, Mickey Ned, even Paidi O'Se are all below the 64% I'd say (In championship, Fitz's stat goes up to 71%). Under the former two, did Kerry even come out of Munster? AI medals are how Kerry ppl rate success, not stats. Paidi was there for 9 years. He scrope two. Fitz was only there for 7 years. He won one in a wonder!

Rte coverage sucks all sport getting the formulaic treatment . cantwell (who's absolutely dreadful) with the puppetmaster mcbennett in the background.

It's shocking stuff de lads in montrose only interested in the oval ball, most of them directos in gaa go

The only way it will stop is when people stop paying for gaago subscriptions

If the app isn't on your TV's app store try logging in to GAAGO site on the TV browser. Not ideal but could be better than casting.
