With all training cancelled also, I can't see a resumption of games for quite a while.

I've never seen a training ban enforced in the GAA before.....hopefully they keep on top of this one.

I been part of this overseas as well, once the decision is made to suspend everything its hard to change it, in two weeks things will have got worse not better so there is no chance that they will go back. It will take time for these measures to have an impact and once things stabilize the though process is that they are working so keep them in place. This is one where the endgame is not known.

County boards and even intercounty tournaments should start drawing up a plan B to hold straight knockout tournaments this summer/autumn

Call it all off, scrap the league as is. In two weeks we need to have serious discussions about Championship. Probably scrap that too. Play off the club championship in summer. Run through a 6 week championship in August/September.

As much as we all love our sports circumstances will dictate that they take a back seat in terms of priority for the foreseeable future. There is no end-date in sight with this. Our government and health care authorities will just have to carefully review developments as they unfold and use their best judgement as to how we, as a nation should proceed.

It will be hard for the GAA to make decisions that will please everyone. Some tough compromises will need to be made I'd imagine. It's not beyond the realms of possibility that all county action is suspended for 2020.

The trend seems to be going towards cancellation. The NBA and NCAA Basketball have shut down their season and/or current tournaments. The PGA Golf is continuing but without spectators. The Golf Tournament in the Dominican Republic was cancelled.

Even though I hate it a suspension of all matches is probably the right thing to do. Sigh.

With scientists predicting a peak in 14-16 weeks it looks like our way of life will be severely disrupted for the short to medium term...I fear there won't be a 2020 championship.

While we all live the GAA the ramifications of what is happening here a serious and will be long lasting and go way beyond the scope of sport. It's hard for those of us when the GAA is a huge part of our life but health comes first.

This 100% the correct decision. Like others I fear for the championship season never mind the league. Is there a possibilty that inter-county games could be played behind closed doors?

What odds that the Inter County managers adhere to the no training rule.

Disappointed as Cork probably would have won da double in 2020! Limerick hurlers breathing sigh of relief, as they were due a hammering in May!

I think everyone can forget about the Championship this year and who knows maybe next year as well. By the time March 29th comes, it's highly likely that things will be much worse. They need to start closing down pubs and hotels next and consider issuing rationing cards. Put the whole country into lock down asap, that's the only thing that will hold this back. All the fools from Ireland who went to Cheltenham should be vilified.

maybe worry about your own country...the UK doesn't seem to be doing much to stop the spread. Still playing soccer, rugby, having horse racing festivals....

UK delaying things only makes worse Ireland down the line.

it's up to the players to give managers a public shaming if they even consider having training's. Time for people to man up and take some personal responsibility

Not sure about the championship as come the likes of late May and June we will hopefully have flattened the curve while the warmer weather will make the spread a lot less prevalent.....unfortunately I think the leagues are over and real pressure on April as the club month which will require adjustments to the inter county championship to provide space for all

If we take the necessary precautions over the next 6-8 weeks then we can dodge the worst of this but vital we hold our nerve and if that means ditching the rest of the league and making championship knock out then so be it..
