I been part of this overseas as well, once the decision is made to suspend everything its hard to change it, in two weeks things will have got worse not better so there is no chance that they will go back. It will take time for these measures to have an impact and once things stabilize the though process is that they are working so keep them in place. Call it all off, scrap the league as is. In two weeks we need to have serious discussions about Championship. Probably scrap that too. Play off the club championship in summer. As much as we all love our sports circumstances will dictate that they take a back seat in terms of priority for the foreseeable future. There is no end-date in sight with this. Our government and health care authorities will just have to carefully review developments as they unfold and use their best judgement as to how we, as a nation should proceed. It will be hard for the GAA to make decisions that will please everyone. Some tough compromises will need to be made I'd imagine. The trend seems to be going towards cancellation. The NBA and NCAA Basketball have shut down their season and/or current tournaments. The PGA Golf is continuing but without spectators. With scientists predicting a peak in 14-16 weeks it looks like our way of life will be severely disrupted for the short to medium term...I fear there won't be a 2020 championship. While we all live the GAA the ramifications of what is happening here a serious and will be long lasting and go way beyond the scope of sport. I think everyone can forget about the Championship this year and who knows maybe next year as well. By the time March 29th comes, it's highly likely that things will be much worse. They need to start closing down pubs and hotels next and consider issuing rationing cards. Put the whole country into lock down asap, that's the only thing that will hold this back. Not sure about the championship as come the likes of late May and June we will hopefully have flattened the curve while the warmer weather will make the spread a lot less prevalent.....unfortunately I think the leagues are over and real pressure on April as the club month which will require adjustments to the inter county championship to provide space for all If we take the necessary precautions over the next 6-8 weeks then we can dodge the worst of this but vital we hold our nerve and if that means ditching the rest of the league and making championship knock out then so be it..
