O'Brien was in the running for POTY coming into the All Ireland final. He caused Dublin plenty of problems in the first half of the drawn game but can't remember him doing much in the replay.

Perhaps, and only perhaps, Ciaran Kilkenny in for Murphy. It's a fine 15.

Great team there. I wouldnt have any changes. The fact that Murphy had such great games v mayo and Kerry when he needed to stand up probably secured this 'award' which is only a bit of craic at the end of the day

Yeah, it's only a bit of craic but personally I cannot understand why so many people are questioning Michael Murphy's inclusion. I know it's a matter of opinion but I would regard him as one of the most influential players I have ever seen and he'd be one of the first names I'd pencil in on any All-Star team in any year, regardless of how successful Donegal would be. The team HS readers have come up with is an outstanding team and probably better than what the official All-Star selectors will pick!

Murphy is the most complete footballer in the country; McShane at the moment is more reliable and better able to handle himself than Clifford - give Clifford a year or so

Ya McCarthy definitely doesn't deserve an all star. If he gets one it will be based on how he has played in the past which shouldn't come into it.

Murphy had a great year but he did not have a great game against Mayo he had a poor game and more or less cost Donegal shooting bad wides in that game.

Clifford for McShane, Kilkenny for Murphy and I would be in agreement with the rest

He hit wides but was still very influential. Incredible games in ulster championship especially v Tyrone. He doesn't have the players around him that Kilkenny has either. Matter of opinion, we will agree to disagree. If Kilkenny or Clifford got it in his place they would be deserving and there would be similar posting going on about replacing them with Murphy.
