RTE preview for Saturdays Dublin SFC semi finals. Ballyboden St Endas v St Judes and Kilmacud Crokes v Thomas Davis (Throw-ins 5.15pm and 7.00pm). Bit of a stinker from whoever did the write-up: "A new champion will be crowned this year, as holders St Vincents were eliminated...". St Vincent's won it it 2016 and 2017; Crokes won it last year. Round 3 in the Donegal senior club championship this evening. Both teams are so evenly balanced. It could come down to whichever team has recovered better after last Sunday's exertions. Odhran McFadden-Ferry is likely to come back in for Gaoth Dobhair. He'll bring a lot of energy to them. Brick Molloy might also be pushing for a start with Glenties having made a notable contribution when introduced last time out. Hopefully a winner will be decided this evening. There is the possibility that yet another replay will be needed on Saturday. This would then mean the winner would be in action less than 24 hours later in Ulster. Galway Hurling County Final on Sunday. St Thomas's v Liam Mellows Repeat of last years final that St Thomas's won. No dominant team this year in Galway so this match should be a toss up. I'd give the slightest edge to St Thomas's. Congratulations to the Corofin footballers winning the Galway County Final for the 7th time in a row. Incredible achievement. Dunloy yesterday demonstrated EVERYTHING that is is wrong with Gaelic Games in Antrim. They have better, more talented hurlers than Slaughtneil BUT they don't have what the Derry men have. They don't have the heart, fight, stomach and belief that gets you over the line. From start to finish Dunloy were bullied, controlled and dominated by Slaughtneil and the North Antrim men couldn't handle it. As a Belfast Gael I don't want to hear any more nonsense about the big, hard tough North Antrim men. Yesterday Dunloy were pussycats. Fairytale stuff by Borris-Ileigh in making the Munster club final. They left down an early marker by beating Clonoulty. I thought Kilruane or Kiladangan would win tipp but in fairness to Borris they beat the two of them. Ballygunner look like men on a mission, they look very impressive and should have too much for Borris. St Thomas' will be very keen to get back to Croke Park. The Kerry Intermediate Champions should always be favourites for the All-Ireland. 8th/9th best club team in a county as strong as Kerry gotta be heavy favourites for me. This weekend we have the ulster football semi finals, first up on sat night, Clontibret ( mon ) v Naomh Conaill ( don ) this will be very tight and ill just go with Clontibret after extra time sun afternoon, Derrygonnelly ( fer ) v Kilcoo ( down ) fancy goals in this one, with Kilcoo coming out on top by 3/4 points.
