Tyrone will always pay the ultimate price at this stage of the tournament ,
and will continue to do so against the big 3 because of the blanket defense in which they created.

They were so focused on that system , they forgot/ neglected the skilled requirements which will always be fundamental to a top class out-fit., ie, The kicking game, intricate passing /kicking while remaining mobile and fluid...

Kerry must be delighted with the draw.

Replying To Breezy:  "Wouldn't it be so very Mayo to beat this Dublin side and then still go on to lose the final"
If it goes down to the wire its a big win for Dublin.
It will go a long way to silencing the financial doping accusations for the winter ahead..

Replying To Galway2019:  "I don't think you could ask for bigger motivation for this mayo side than knowing they are the team to stop the drive for 5. Both teams have a lot to play for. The pressure of it not being a final should make it all the more interesting."
Do you not think Mayo were motivated enough in the finals they played in ? Don't see any logic in that aul chat at all.

Just after looking at Paddy Power website. Mayo might be the nation's favourite but not Paddy's, Dublin are 1/5 (Mayo should not feel bad, Dublin are 2/5 to win it out).

Replying To cacsmckilly:  "Mayo haven't a prayer. On Saturday they are facing the reason why they haven't won an All Ireland in last 5 years. Its called Dublin and its a much faster, smarter, skilful animal than last time they met. Problem with Mayo theyre still playing same aul heads that played against Bernard Brogan, Alan Brogan, O'Gara and other past greats. Its out to pasture for Mayo after this one, brolly will be redeemed. The end is near."
I think you'll find Dublin have a few old heads also

Cluxton, Cooper, McMahon, Fitzsimons, O Carroll, McCarthy, O Sullivan, MCCaffrey, MacCauley - Hardly all championship debutants

Compare that to Mayos retention from 2013

Clarke, Barrett, Higgins, Keegan, Boyle, O Sheas, COC, AMoran, McLoughlin,

The reality is most of Dublin's veterans are defenders, Mayo have a few older forwards so those whose knowledge of GAA extends to reading clips of news from the 42 (and other phone apps), form an option that Mayo are old and Dublin are young despite the facts telling something else.

Last year Dublin reinvigorated their 2013-2016 team with the all Ireland winning U21 team from 2015 (with more to follow from 2017)
Mayo are currently doing the same with their all Ireland winning U21's from 2016.

Dublin's younger players are proven after last year, Mayos are not. That's the difference between then teams at the moment.
If Mayos younger lads can step up they are in with a real shout. If not they will be a bit wiser for the experience.

There has been little between the so called greatest team of all time and a team that are supposedly "bottlers".
They are the only two counties to have won national titles in the last 5 years and there hasn't been more than a point between them 5 of the last 6 meetings.

Dublin got no satisfaction from winning last years All Ireland as no one stood up to them. They will get that much on Saturday and if they win then good luck to them but at least they will know they earned it

Sure Paddy had Donegal strong favourites last week. I'll be keeping my money in my pocket but if I did fancy a flutter I'd go with Mayo winning a HT, Dublin winning at FT.

Hard to know but my guest would be ;

Hennelly
Barrett
Harrison
Higgins
Keegan
Boyle
Coen
Ruane
A O Shea
McDonagh
Durkan
McLaughlin
Carr
Coen
O Conor

He'll leave Moran off at the start I reckon

I have a strange feeling Mayo could whip them but it needs a lot of things to go right. I'd start Moran and take him off a while and bring him back on at the end. You need your best forwards starting every time. No point sending them on with a half hour to go with the game out of sight. Putting Aidan oshea in full forward would cause that Dublin full back line no end of bother

Would swap Hennelly for Clarke, would put Eoin O'Donoghue in at corner-back (for Keith), push Higgins into half-back and would start Darren Coen, bringing Andy off the bench later on.

Would be very interested to know the latest fitness news concerning Matty Ruane, Diarmuid O'Connor and Tom Parsons, though would assume that none of them would be fit enough to start. Would have to assume that Jason Doherty will be gone at least for this game, and so would start Kevin McLoughlin on the 40.

Aido didn't cause too much bother last time he was deployed there. Held scoreless I think.

Seriously? Seamie O Shea gets the road after his performance last weekend? No chance. Both O Sheas start and so does Ruane if he is fit enough.

Although I'd be disappointed

If Mayo win on Saturday I'll be genuinely happy for them and hope they'd go onto win it.

We Dubs have had some ride and have already won 6 this decade with a fair few NFL Div 1 titles on top, broken records and gone on the greatest winning run ever seen

Has to be said. We've been spoiled by our great team and 5 would be the cherry on top but that is all it would be.

So wouldn't begrudge the loyal Mayo support their victory and I'd applaud their players

Great support
Excellent team

... and it'll be bloody deserved and easily go down as one of the greatest Sam's ever won if they go all the way.

Still hope Dublin win by 16pts mind ;)

Up the Mighty Dubs

Enjoy the game!

achara your baffled as to why Tyrone have been given a chance. I will try and explain it for you. Tyrone are in the All-Ireland Semi- Final with one game to win to be in the All-Ireland Final. This would mean we have a chance of winning. Hope that clears it up for you. I have no doubt you will be shouting your support for a fellow Ulster County as I know Monaghan people are very sporting.

What are the Mayo match ups likely to be TheFlaker? Keegan on Kilkenny. Boyle on Howard? Keegan's one of the best man markers in the game and did a good job on Ciaran last championship game.

Playing Donegal on a tight wet pitch in Castlebar is a million miles away from Dublin in CP , he played well but his pace is gone it would be crazy to play the two O Shea brothers in midfield they lack too much pace for that, were as Ruane is a flier who I think has to start. It's just a guest anyway personally if it's the two O Shea's in midfield I'll be delighted.

Some achievement this, managing to be so badly wrong about everything in just 3 lines

AOS hasnt kicked a score in Donkeys years, has been anonymous against every team at FF apart from one game against sligo years ago. His strengths are out the field ballwinning and tackling

Yeah would be shocked if Keegan isn't on him. I would prefer Durcan on Howard but I think he might start on McCaffrey which would be interesting.

O Shea and Ruane in midfield and O Shea named as a forward but effectively a 3rd midfielder. He may hold McLoughlin off the bench. If we are in the game and we have a bench with Andy Moran and McLoughlin as well as O Donoghue or Higgins that is a real boost.

We lost in 2017 as we had nothing from the bench last 15. The players were spent.
