Replying To TheFlaker:  "Keegan has not been at his best, has had injury problems. But seriously to go back to 17, Kilkenny did nothing and Keegan destroyed him to be fair, and popped up with a goal which was late on, so not sure how his effectiveness waned.

It's a big ask for Keegan to keep doing this to be honest."
Fair enough a chara, id stick by what i wrote in all honesty, but we will all have our different opinion and thats only right.

Mayo has a great chance if they can slow down the pace. If I was Horan i would play Ruane and SOS in midfield, Ruane would have the legs for Fenton and SOS on McCarthy. I would play AOS on half forward line and see what happens. I massively fancy Mayos chances in a wet heavy Croke park. Interesting to see how Fionn McDonagh, James Carr, Coen will be like !

Will this be the biggest attendance for any football match anywhere in the world this weekend? Possibly Melbourne v Collingwood bigger? Not bad for amateur players all the same!

I will be surprised if Dublin don't post a 10+ point victory, different level altogether.

Though hoping for Mayo-Tyrone final, what'll the bookies give me for that?

14/1, great odds especially Mayo at 5/1.

That's Keegan's brilliance imo.

The ability to mark someone out of it but still contribute to the game.

What's saved Dublin v Mayo is that one of the other forwards tends to step up. Paddy Andrews in the 15 replay, and again the 16 drawn game, Costello's cameo in the 16 replay and ironically enough Connolly in 17.

Keegan will mark anyone out of it out the field but if he's doing that to Kilkenny then Kilkenny has to move into the full forward line or even start there. Keegan has struggled in recent years in the full back line. Failed to handle Quinlivan and received a black card on Connolly in that area too. Also had to be moved off Murphy the last day.

Jack McCaffrey is possibly Dublin's biggest asset this summer, he has become extremely central to what Dublin do. Mayo need to mark himself and Kilkenny really well. I actually think if they can do that, and slow the game to their own pace then they've a serious shout.

If the weather is as bad as they are currently predicting it's not going to be s good game of ball.

Possibly low enough scoring. Plenty of slips and spills.

What are you on about get your facts right. He put Quinlivan into his pocket along with Connolly, Kilkenny, Shane walsh, Sean cavanagh, Sean O'Shea and he was moved off Murphy only because he received a yellow card from that joke of a penalty incident . He's also more prolific than a lot of inter county forwards. The man's top class.

Agree. Keegan has the ability to neutralise our play maker. He is Mayo's Cooper. A great player. If they go man to man then I would be prepared to sacrifice Kilkenny if he can nullify Keegan. He is a serious threat, a la McCaffrey. Kilkenny should be able to pull Keegan all over the place to make space for Howard, Mannion, Con who should be able to do the damage. DC may be on the bench for Dublin. It could get interesting. But Keegan IMO is one of the best half backs of his generation. A superb player. Him James and Jack are right up there with the greats. To see the best players of this generation on a pitch battling against each other will be epic.

Keegan is one of the greats, an astounding player. Think it was Eugene Magee who coined the phrase "Lee Keegan prison" to describe where whomever he marked would end up. I do think that in 2017 Kilkenny wasn't "destroyed" as you put it but certainly was curtailed in the first half. I'd love Keegan to get an all-ireland and if it was to hapen this year then fair enough, but obvioulsy I hope not :-)

Right, wheres the feckin' xanax? Before we go to war, I wish all the Mayo folk a safe round trip. If we lose, I will be very disappointed but I know that within a few days I'll probably be on the Mayo bandwagon. Here's to a great game!!

Just looking at the Dublin 26 there. Scary. We'll need everything to go right for us and then some!

Putting all bias aside, can anyone name a player who can nullify so greatly and also contribute on the scoreboard as keegan has done?

Bernard Brogan must be gutted, to come back from serious injury putting in massive work & to have a fella named on the squad that didn't care a few weeks ago as he waited to head to Boston, an awful slap in the face as for Brogan.

He certainly didn't put Quinlivan in his pocket. He gave away 5/6 scorabale frees that day and mayo fans beside me admitted that he should have been carded at least 3 times in that game.
I never said he wasn't too class, I said he's not as effective as he's been made out when forced to follow his man into the full back line. Calm down!
