Im happy with Hartes decision because he has selected fringe players where one or two could make a name for themselves and push their way into contention for a semi final place. Plus he is resting the main Tyrone backbone as well, cant argue with his course of action at all.

Replying To neverright:  "Should a team be allowed to make 15 (or indeed 8) changes for a game at this stage of the c'ship? I understand the arguments about protecting players from injury and also not 'showing your hand' but this seems to be making a laugh of the competition. I know the Super 8 initiative is ridiculous but while it is in place it needs to be respected."
It's not like they're deliberately throwing the game. They're already through. It's the structure that's at fault here and not the team managers. What manager in his right mind is gonna send his best team out to go full tilt with a semi final but a week away. Plus you're entitled to use your whole squad any way you want, that's why they are there. Nobody complains about it being done in pre season tournaments or the league. Same logic is being used here, rest your established players and give others a chance to shine.

Agree....let others fight for a spot. The determination of some lads might surprise both managers.

Could be a decent match, just to see how the fringe players fare out.

Does the loser of Tyrone versus Dublin actually win? The runner up in this game gets an extra night off and arguably an easier semi-final. I think finishing second in this group is a big advantage. This is why all games in both groups should have been played off this evening.

While opinions differ on here, I'm absolutely convinced Kerry will be meeting Dublin in a semi-final and it's what Jim Gavin will strategically plan for now. There's no way Jim Gavin will think that playing Mayo next Saturday evening is an easier route into an All Ireland final than playing this Kerry team at this stage of their development. The smart play for Dublin is to make sure you end up playing this Kerry team in a semi-final and avoid Mayo at the moment and Jim Gavin is smart.

I'm right on point and you know it! We can argue but it's an unfair advantage not playing off all final group games at the same time.

Kerry haven't been beaten yet in championship. What in the name of the man above are you talking about son. You're on something alright. Enjoy the night wherever you are.

Yerra yerra

Dubs will want to face Mayo next week, before they get back to full fitness.

Mayo will be a much tougher prospect in a month, with a long break and 95% of their panel at full throttle.

Dubs aren't really worried about Tyrone or Kerry

What a crock of horse manure.

Mayo are out on their feet, dublin will be fresh as a daisy going into a potential game against mayo in 6 days time while mayos lads have been cramping up all over the show and have been in big big games recently, what's it 6 games in 7 weeks or something like that, seriously mileage there. Cant imagine for a second that Dublin or Jim would be overly stressed at this juncture anyway. In an all ireland semi you expect to be coming up against a top top team which we will be. So it's all good in the hood, we will be right for Saturday or Sunday.. makes zero odds who we get.

Yerra it's only a pity Kerry can't play Mayo again next week. Cos a full strength Dublin or Tyrone will be too strong for them.
