Well 20e is not too bad. I hope though it is frozen at this price for the All Ireland championships too in the summer.

Yes. You are missing something. For your 20 euro you could end up standing in the cold and watching 2nd string teams go half heartedly at it. To show how teams feel about the league, the Tipp hurlers felt that reaching the league last year cost them championship form. Ridiculous but if they believe it, I don't imagine they'll be going full tilt. Two or three years ago on the Saturday before Dublin were due to play Kerry in front of a full house, Jim Gavin said he was using the game as preparation to play Wicklow! Using Kerry as a challenge game to play Wicklow!! Again ridiculous but again shows the attitude of the top teams to the competition. They are in different. Loads of the better players take breaks over the winter. It is terrible PR and this just adds to this.

The tickets that you buy pre match that were 12€ are now gone to 15€

If you buy it before you dont have to pay the 20€

As usual you are, it's fine for a fella hopping on a bus/luas/dart to go to a game in Croker for the rest of us who have to pay for a ticket PLUS the price of fuel for the car, bit of grub etc €20 is the tip of the proverbial iceberg.

But don't you fret about it, sure you probably head to a couple of the home games in Croker and hence your a true blue :D

So the kids going free is better value because adult tickets are now €20? Even in Dublin you won't pay more than a tenner for a roll, coffee or a mars bar unless you like being ripped off.

Price Increase A Disgrace


The price increase from €15 to €20 is a disgrace in my opinion. I mean €15 is a fair amount to pay to go and see a league match but €20 to go and see a league match is way too high as far as I'm concerned.

so...

number of games on tv goes up while at the same time, the price for the actual match going fan goes up.

and they will then launch investigations into why numbers are getting lower.

Pure greed. Biting the hand that feeds them, the season ticket holders and pay as you go league fans who don't miss a game. I never like drawing comparisons with soccer as I love both sports but I can attend Dalymount Park for a league match for €15, have a seat, decent food, quality bars, cheap pints, DJ all thrown in. I go onto the ONeills website and I can buy the Bohemians jersey for €60. The Dublin jersey cost me €70. They maintain that soccer is one of the biggest threats to the sport yet they punish the punters who finance them.

What price are rolls, coffee andMars bar in Dublin. You would have change out of €20 in most delis/shops in
Rural Ireland.

€20 is too dear for a league game but they are offering deal of €15 if you buy it before match day..so least thats there, majority will buy beforehand and it helps attendance with people being committed too going

You make it sound so unappealing. I enjoy it myself. I actually wouldn't go if that's how I felt about it. It is a choice after all.

I'm actually amazed people think 20 euro is expensive for a league game. The kids going free is terrific, you could pay 20 yo-yo and bring the kids for afternoon1,2,3, or a gang. It's great for kids, boys and girls, especially with a couple of men and woman double headers in the home of Dublin football. Superb value in my opinion.

I'm also a bit worried for some on here and their roll consumption.

I suspect rolls are being purchased without pesto or sun dried tomatoes. That's before we even get into frapachinos or mochachinos! ;)

20 euro is cheap..dirt cheap. You wouldn't get parking over here in the UK for that price. It costs me 25 pound to see my local 3rd division rugby team of a Saturday.

The average family of 4 paying €80? So both kids are over 16 and neither are students if they are paying €20? And instead of buying the 4 tickets the day before the game for €15 each they buy them the day of the game for €20? The family of 4 beside them at the game with 2 kids under 16 who all got in for €30 are getting decent value though.

It's a 33 1/3rd percent increase. Not even the utilities companies hike at that rate.
