Replying To mon:  "The 1987 All Ireland Football Semi- Final between Galway V Cork. Ended up a draw. Val Daly scored a brilliant goal for Galway.

Larry Tompkins equalized with a free with last kick of game. It was at least 50 yards out an incredible score."
That was my first match also. Was there for the replay too.

Fairplay to anyone who can vividly remember they're first day in Croker, unfortunately I can't.

I've been told I was there in 1996 for Meath v Carlow and I have a vague recollection of being there for Meath v Kildare 1997 (it was a wet day so possibly that was the 3rd game).

My first clear memory in Croker was the Leinster final in 1998, I was 10 at the time, not a great day for Meath fans but very fond memories of the day itself.

Replying To St.Conleth:  "1978 Leinster Final v Dublin. Was a hammering as well. Real dub was playing that day:)"
For the minors on the undercard of course :)

I was at matches in the late 70s with the da but I've no real recollection other than a wooly scarf and rattler. My first real memory is the 1980 Leinster Final where we got rolled over by a great Offaly team and a game in which John O'Leary made his debut.

2 September 2000, Kerry vs Armagh in the semi final replay. Sat in the Hogan Stand which was still under construction. Aged 9 and when my love for Dara O Cinneide was born.

Tyrone v Galway, All Ireland semi final 1995. We won and it was love at first sight.

We hadn't played in championship there since 1989. Hard to consider going 6 years without a big game at HQ but that's the way it was apparently.

You are only as young as the woman you feel so marry a woman a lot younger than you.

Cavan v Dublin in a league semi-final in 1989 (?) I don't remember very much about it except it was very wet and we lost.

1st time I really remember was the 95 All-Ireland Hurling final. Sat in the the Nally Stand.

A league game against Roscommon in either 76 or 77. Dublin had just won the all Ireland and my friend from school had been at it so myself and my brother hounded our dad to go to a 'real' game like on the TV. We were in the lower Cusack and the two things that stuck in my head was the vivid yellow jerseys on a grey day and the headcases bouncing around on the hill.

I do not remember it but there is a photo of me being held up by my late father at the 1964 All Ireland semi final against Galway (I was only 2).

First game i remember being at is the 1970 Leinster Final against Offaly where we were 10 points down at half time, ended up conceding 5-12 but won by a point, and that was what started my obsession with the GAA.

Later that year I remember being back at Croker for a match in the Grounds tournament where the All Ireland semi Final pairings were reversed and we played Derry. I do not remember much about the match except after the game my father brought me out on the pitch and we stood where I think Sean O'Connell from Derry had scored a point. He handed me a ball that I had brought along and i tried to kick it over the bar. Innocent days back then.

Mid 80s , Dublin v Cork in all Ireland minor semifinal , me and a few friends were in for our first time , we were in the Cusack stand , and we were heading to our seats , when a drunk cork fan punched my friend in the face , we were only about 13/14 , he never went to a game again. He has missed out on many a great day

Feel sorry in a way for my lads who have only known the stadium we have , don't think they get or appreciate where we have come from , we all get a bit rose mantic in our auld age but some of my best memories where In the old place , not every great memory is about winning , it was very rare for us to be successful when I attended with my late father

Replying To OLLIE:  "More than likely it could be against Meath."
After checking with my uncle you're right as always Ollie. One of the 4 Meath Dublin games in 1991 is what the photo is from. He's not sure which though.
