At this stage of the championship, I think Wexford. MiAmigaVERONICA (Clare) - Posts: 302 - 31/05/2018 12:59:00 2105950 Link 0 |
Galway should have enough strength to win this one but if they are in anyway casual about their approach it could be very closely contested. It should be to begin with anyway but I reckon Galway's class and experience should shine through eventually SaffronDon (Antrim) - Posts: 2386 - 31/05/2018 13:18:24 2105958 Link 0 |
Couldn't agree more, were this game in Croker I'd be a lot more confident, but beating Wexford in Wexford Park will be a big ask. However we're All Ireland champions, and whilst you'd would never be cocky when it comes to Galway hurling, we should be beating Wexford, and just like last Sunday it's about laying down markers, and showing who's the top dog. We are a good bit further along than Wexford, but I wouldn't be surprised to see either Wexford or Limerick winning LIam within the next few years. gilly0512 (Galway) - Posts: 1176 - 31/05/2018 13:34:36 2105968 Link 0 |

I did fancy Wexford for this but then went Galway 6-10 on the prediction thread! tiobraid (Tipperary) - Posts: 4119 - 31/05/2018 17:17:22 2106047 Link 0 |

Play Johnny Glynn and I think Galway will win. Not that I feel anyone should be dropped after the Kilkenny game but horses for courses. Wexford half back line did too much damage in the league game so either we switch from the start or else MD believes there has been sufficient improvement since the league to compete better. I think that line will be the most important in the game and whichever team comes out on top will win. SamandLiamSoon (Galway) - Posts: 597 - 31/05/2018 20:22:26 2106091 Link 0 |
Galway should be getting over this one. You'll remember this is a Galway team 5-6 yrs in the making. And as reigning AI champs should have a bit more experience and class. Having said that this is a wexford team that are on the up and moving well under Davy but Galway should have too much on this occasion. tribesman125 (Galway) - Posts: 173 - 31/05/2018 23:57:24 2106135 Link 1 |

Totally agree with you and with talk of Galway winning back to back All Ireland then this is a match Galway should win with a bit to spare even though Wexford Park hasn't always been a happy hunting ground the fact that Galway are 5-6 years playing together as a team, have that winning experience and are starting to click will see them into a Leinster Final. Wexford on the other hand could start to go backwards if they lose because I'd fancy Kilkenny to beat them in Nolan Park and that would leave them 3rd in Leinster and probably facing Tipperary 4th in Munster in the Premilary 1/4 final.

Forget the league. How much did Kilkenny beat Wexford by in the league? It dosn't matter as it will have no bearing on championship.

I hate to go against my own but I think Wexford aren't good enough to beat Galway. Pinkie (Wexford) - Posts: 4100 - 01/06/2018 14:15:55 2106276 Link 1 |
Fair play Pinkie: I spent a month or two in Wexford in the summer of '97 and the buzz in the county from the win the previous September was still palpable; talk about a county that truly savored the win! Should be a great game and I can't wait to see what Davy had cooked up. I think we should nick it, but it could be a cracker, and it wouldn't be the first time I was wrong if we loose! festinog (Galway) - Posts: 3097 - 01/06/2018 21:39:06 2106364 Link 0 |
Safe travels to all coming down, hope you enjoy Wexford for the weekend. Game will be very interesting, nothing more exciting than playing the best in the business and we will see if we have improved on last year. Galway are a very physical side and scores will be hard to come by, We cannot afford to have the wides we had against Offaly if we are to have any hope of beating the champions. O Keefee despite playing well shot 3/5 wides for both theDublin and Offaly games while a simple accurate pass to our forwards would be more rewarding. We need a big game from Chin for 70 mins , hasn't been good all year and only pops up now and then. McDonald needs quality ball to give him any chance of scoring as he will have 2 markers most of the time. Paul Morris is another one to up his performance , he has been taking off in every game to date. Not too overly worried about our back line as they have been good with Ryan in particular in great form. Needs a big game to keep Conor Cooney quiet. Would worry about Conor Whelan as he is very physical and one hell of a score getter, so so important to get our match ups correct.Accurate Puckouts are so important for Wexfords game plan. Best of luck to both sides, looks like a full house so atmosphere will be electric.

the referee is being ridiculously fussy in this game so far. booking players for very little. not allowing advantages and wasting a lot of time laying his law down. destroying any chance of a game breaking out so far anyway. SaffronDon (Antrim) - Posts: 2386 - 02/06/2018 17:41:15 2106512 Link 0 |

That was way too easy for Galway. Wexford were woeful in the second-half. Gaillimh_Abu (Galway) - Posts: 996 - 02/06/2018 18:36:50 2106530 Link 2 |
