This has the potential to be a real cracker. one of the lesser known but nonetheless really traditional old GAA rivalries. It is a real pity such a big game is staged as a curtain raiser in front of of maybe 10'000 people lost in the enormity of Croke park. The crowd might get up to early 30,000s by the time Dublin team take the field. it would be brilliant to have Carlow v Laois in say Tullamore and Longford V Dublin in Portlaise both venues well able to hold expected crowds .From a Carlow persons point of view playing the games in Croke park dulls down any atmosphere. Anyone in O Connor park yesterday will know what I mean. The noise of the Carlow support was amazing. who must have outnumbered Kildare support by at least 2/1 Please leave Croke Park for Provincial finals onwards and the Stones etc..

I hope to God you beat Laois!!!
As to venue the GAA will get beaten up either way.
Play it in Croker and its 'they are only about money and the atmosphere was dead'. Play it down the country and its 'they show the weaker counties no respect and Croker is only for the Dubs as it's all about money'.
