Replying To Horsebox77:  "Seò Sport on a Friday night - can anyone please tell me why this was dropped - one of the best sport shows the set up production and presentation was top notch. Darragh O'Cinneide was an excellent presenter lovely tone to the voice and a show that more like friends talking in the pub about sport more than a live show presentation. Dropping this show is the one sports blot on TG4 copybook cos every other thing they have done sports wise has to be commended but this show yes's this isn't what I most miss about the Gaa"
Never watched it as I wouldn't understand a word they were saying. Does it matter if you have a nice tone to your voice if 80% of your target audience hears jibberish coming out of it?
Can't wait for Joanne to take over actually, now there is someone who knows the gaa inside out.

I'm far from a gealgoir but there was subtitles and at least 80% of the player interviews were in English

If you can't understand a single word of it having gone to school in Ireland then that is your own problem and issue, and says a lot in itself. I'm always surprised when people wear their ignorance with pride.

Once a show is subtitled it doesn't matter what language the show is in, if it is good it is good.

Agree that Joanne Cantwell is a good shout for the Sunday Game gig. I think she's a good presenter. Michael Lyster, though a competent and affable broadcaster, has always just let the pundits away to say whatever irrelevant waffle they want to, and when the pundits are Brolly, Spillane and O'Rourke that is an issue.

If you can't understand what the panellists are saying, how do you know it's gibberish?

- - No Super 8's
- - No Black cards.
- - No Eletism.
- - No Helmets.
- - No Gum shields.
- - No Hawk Eye.

When Referees were infallible, and post match comments were made before the match started.?? - - Those were the day's,

Micheal was on radio 1 with Sean O Rourke yesterday...he has one of those voices I could just listen to all day. There will never be another one like him.

I have no interest in it. Btw latest census would suggest I in majority. And also could point to way it is thought. Funny thing I rose through my employment to become a large employer myself, and never once did I need it. It has never held me back. So it's pointless

Going to matches with my Dad when I was a kid. It didn't matter a bit when Roscommon used to beat us regualry in the 70s. He was and still is The King. I think that's the reason many people love the GAA.

From reading you last post, the way you were taught English could do with a little work too.

Those were the days. Life was simple and uncomplicated. That expressed our identity along with the flag and anthem. We still have the latter two. Still feel a huge sense of pride in other.

I miss thedays when football was a 15 man game, no massed defences.

Aren't you great?

I doubt you are in the majority at all actually.

The majority of people educated in Ireland can understand a couple of basic sentences and words in Irish, unlike you who only hears "jibberish". I mean to go through at least 13 years of school with Irish everyday and still only hear "jibberish" takes some doing to be fair.

It says more about you than anything else really the way you wear your ignorance with pride.
