Pairc Ui Rinn Pitch

(Oldest Posts First)

Fair play to the staff of Pairc Ui Rinn for doing a lot of good work which allowed the Cork vs Waterford game to be played.

The question must be asked though, when snow is forecast why isn't there some covering placed on the pitch beforehand which would greatly reduce the amount of work needed to ensure the pitch is playable?

I think the cost would have something to do with it. In all fairness about once every 6 or 7 years we get a bad dose of snow so i dont think it would be worth investing in the covers. Also what ever about the pitch being playable or not the lead up to the stadium has to be safe for the supporters who come so again who would cover that cost, its all about money in the gaa unfortunately. But it would be a great idea to at least have one major stadium in each province to have covers

Flower Lodge is a good pitch. The snow stopped falling there earlier than other places aswell. I think the Gaelic Grounds match should have went ahead..overly cautious..barely any snow on it.
