Happy enough with that A good challenge and nice to continue to keep Ulster in our pocket. Good game of football in Dublin 1 tonight. Despite terrible conditions. Dublin owned the first half, great comeback by Donegal in the second half, look a talented team Donegal can't see them being relegated. Thought the ref tried to make a game of it to be honest being on tv and all, but taking nothing away from Donegal. Another two points on the board and an away trip to Castlebar next, can't wait! Another worrying performance from Odhran McNiallis following a less than impressive outing against Galway a game in which he just didn't look bothered. He has had a year off & should be fresh & champing at the bit, instead he just does the basics & is a mile away from the leader we need at number 11. Entertaining game especially compared to some of the other sport on offer today. Dublin much the more efficient side in the first half but Donegal probably should have had another 1-1 on the board just before HT. From a Donegal perspective the 2nd half showing showed great improvement but again another moral victory. Saying that I would be more than hopeful that Donegal can maintain Division 1 status. Another Paddy McB masterclass ably abetted by his Kilcar team mates in the 2 McHughs and his brother Stephen. I thought Leo McClone was again excellent for the 3rd game in a row. That pass at the start of the 2nd half was a thing of beauty. Cluxton again showed what an asset he is from kickout accuracy an area where Donegal were poor. He was up against one of the most physically dominant players in the game in James McCarthy. Give him time. When the sun is high and the ball is dry I have a feeling we'll see Odhran at his best. Basquel is lethal and as good a natural finisher we've had since BB imo. He seems to have a good eye on his positioning and hoovers up loose ball and finishes. Hopefully see more of Paddy now, he's a top prospect and he just needs an injection of confidence now at this level. A fine score into the Hill off his right foot. Hopefully the first of many. Really enjoyed that tonight, with Donegal hitting post right on half time i though they blew there chance but they ending up winning the second half which surprised me as i though the Dubs would have pulled away. Some excellent scores by both teams and for this time of year the game was played at a great pace, scully and basquel for Dublin and McBrearty for Donegal were all excellent. Again only negitive note was the small challenge very poor could have broken his jaw and please nobody defend that he knew exactly what he was doing. Overall dubs will be happy with another win and Donegal as much as they have no points there looking a v good team i can see them having a long summer. You can see the plan. Paddy is a bit of a wildcard he hasn't been strongly involved at underage that said neither was Fenton. But his performances have m the championship have gotten him this chance, it's very telling he was involved tonight and part of the inner circle. Again like last week he showed glimmers of his talent especially when utilizing the foot pass. Clearly Dublin like Galway identified Odhran pre-match for close attention. I thought he done ok tonight and had a decent game last week. Definitely not worried about Odhran and looks like himself and Leo have built up a bit of rapport from their time in NY. Bit of an overstatement, they won by 5 scores so hardly clinging on. The Dubs made a lot of changes in the second half which unbalanced the team but it felt like they could run up the pitch at any stage and increase the lead if they had to. Not taking anything away from Donegal, who were excellent, and Paddy Mc was the best player on the pitch tonight but Dublin didn't get out of second gear in that second half. Think we can still stay up though remaining fixtures not in our favour the way they are lined up. Think Kildare and Monaghan will def go blanket against us so we need to be prepared for that. Saying that having Neil McGee and Gweedore U-21 lads back will make big difference.
