Always the way with small teams, that once in a life time taste a bit of success. Form is temporary, class is permanent.

congratulations to slaughtneil, keep up the hard work and don't listen to the begrudgers, when your on top everyone wants to knock you off the pedestal yet only a few will make the effort the rest will just complain and begrudge your success with petty comments bulmccabe (Tyrone) - Posts: 361 - 22/10/2017 22:34:32 2057087 Link 3 |
They are a brilliant club and well done to them. Having said that, and I mean no disrespect, but the fact that they are now dominating Ulster hurling and camogie, shows how far Antrim has fallen in both these codes. Croke Park and the Ulster Council should hang their heads in shame at this. Gaelic Games ARE dying in Antrim and those in charge don't give a monkeys. I respect your opinion and I understand that there are problems in Antrim but slaughneil never got any help in Derry in developing their teams and talents in either code. What they had was a work ethic and desire likes of which are really special. Antrim clubs (and a lot of counties the same including my own) need to take the bull by the horns and make things happen like slaughneil did. The county boards might not be perfect but they're not solely responsible for success at club level

There's winning and there's being bad winners and last year there official Twitter account displayed the latter, so can't expect everybody to call at their feet when they run it in the teams they beat faces.

slaughtneil because of relatives and friends there, not that it really matters

Ulsterman-As per usual, completely exaggerating the 'state' of club hurling in Antrim. Why can you not just congratulate a very talented and determined Slaughtneil team on their success, for the second year in a row. Be gracious, Just check the records again, and think before your post. Glensboy (Antrim) - Posts: 290 - 23/10/2017 16:06:59 2057279 Link 2 |

Is it possible you are getting the club mixed up with the county board Twitter account????

This is already in danger of turning into a "he said, she said" argument. Does anyone have any links to Twitter posts to back themselves up? Tacaí Liatroma (Leitrim) - Posts: 1048 - 24/10/2017 09:00:11 2057437 Link 1 |
I see there is a report in the Irish news about the sneil hurling manager and captain complaining about playing games week in week out etc. I do have some sympathy for them but I suppose that's what success brings. They should be grateful that they are in such a position. I believe Omagh, their opponents on Saturday, had to play 3 championship games in 10 days. I'm sure their are plenty of other clubs in the same boat. The_Fridge (Tyrone) - Posts: 2088 - 24/10/2017 10:49:13 2057469 Link 0 |
