dont give me this rubbish about the stand tickets going up for all ireland finals and thats why the likes of mayo deserve hill tickets when they get to finals, mayo played roscommon there twice and played kerry last weekend and will play them there again this weekend, hill16no1man (Dublin) - Posts: 12665 - 22/08/2017 18:15:37 2036507 Link 0 |
Stand tickets don't cost 80 euro for non final games. Also family tickets place many in the the davin.

Well it is, €80 for a GAA game is alot esp to younger ppl who make up most of the crowd in the hill..In Mayo for finals its all the club players who usually are given the hill tickets..its hard to get a stand ticket for a final anywsys between neutrals and bandwagon fans.. tommy132 (Mayo) - Posts: 602 - 22/08/2017 19:22:11 2036521 Link 0 |
Not true, check it out, Dublin get a greater allocation of Hill tickets than other counties. MesAmis (Dublin) - Posts: 13718 - 22/08/2017 21:46:22 2036566 Link 1 |
It is total horse crap that posters are using the excuse of tickets prices to say that is why they suddenly want Hill tickets for the AI Final. If cost was the only reason, then thousands more would be on the Hill for other games. So less of your nonsense lads. The Hill is generally mostly empty for football games not involving The Dubs. Lets see how many are there on Sat v Sunday. My point will be proven. Fionn (Dublin) - Posts: 3736 - 22/08/2017 23:48:36 2036595 Link 0 |
For all ticket games & All Ireland finals, tickets are distributed through the clubs. Dublin get the majority of Hill tickets on these occasions. Don't worry about it, your mates on here will be all on to back you up & make you feel great about yourself. You also suitably ignored all the other points raised where ye are given better treatment by the Gaa also. Intrinsically linked & not for the good of the rest of the Association.

In fairness to the Mayo supporters, If they get to an All Ireland final they will be allocated approximately 8500 tickets, the same as we, or anyone else will get. Given that the had easily between 35 and 40 thousand there last weekend, the demand for final tickets will be huge, so of course they will snap up any hill tickets they are offered, and all competing counties will get a similar allocation of terrace tickets, so Dublin won't get as many as they might usually have. It may not be because of price alone, but any supporter will take any ticket they can get their hands on to see their team in a final, and rightly so. You're point will be in no way proven. I'd agree that most set of fans, including Mayo, prefer a stand ticket to a Hill/Nally ticket. However you still have to factor in cost. The last day against Kerry a stand ticket would cost you €40 and a Hill ticket would cost you €30. For the All Ireland Final it is €80 and €40. For a semi final there is €10 in the difference but for the Final there is €40. That is a huge difference and if people can't see the distinction there they are well beyond redemption on this topic.

As another man said, where can we check this out? To be fair my understanding of the allocation of Hill tickets for the Final (and presumably it is the same for the other rounds) is that tickets are allocated to both county boards equally but generally when teams are playing Dublin, the opposition will swap their Hill tickets with the Dublin county boards for stand tickets. You can't blame Dublin for that. Of course I am open to correction on this from someone in the know but as I say, that is my understanding of the situation. the_walls (Mayo) - Posts: 495 - 23/08/2017 08:16:28 2036628 Link 0 |
As I said in my other post, can only talk about Mayo games, its the age group of the fans that go in the hill for finals, the average age would be low and the €40/45 difference in price would be a big consideration for them..and all club players in Mayo are given the hill/nally tickets and majority keep them..that crap on social media of 'fill the hill' has no bearing on it, would still use all the hill tickets we are given.. tommy132 (Mayo) - Posts: 602 - 23/08/2017 08:42:18 2036635 Link 0 |
Every game in Croke Pk is an all ticket game and for every one of those up to the All-Ireland Final the majority of Hill tickets are sold online or in Supervalu or Centra. I was under the impression that people outside of Dublin were able to use the internet to buy tickets but you seem to think they cannot. Why do you think that? You also seem to think that people outside Dublin are not allowed into Supervalu or Centra. Again what is stopping them buying their hill tickets there? For tickets through clubs and county boards they have the same ability to access hill tickets as Dublin clubs or the Dublin County Board if they want them. The hill tickets (and Nally) are available and no amount of sticking your fingers in your ears when it's explained to you will change the facts that you're clearly just ignorantly lying. Croke Park would love to know your info on that about other county boards swapping tickets with Dublin county board, totally against the rules of the Association. Tickets distributed to counties for finals are distributed through the clubs & season ticket holders, the county boards cannot swap tickets.

Just like Jim Gavin going on about Connollys constitutional rights this year, deflection. Online sales of tickets for the Hill are limited, when Dublin are playing in all ticket matches only x amount of tickets for the Hill are available online, the majority are kept & distributed to the clubs through the Dublin County board, so the greatest percentage of tickets for the Hill are given to Dublin supporters, fact. The Gaa are bending over backwards for Dublin over the last few years, they wouldn't let Carlow play their home game in Dr Cullen park, why not, capacity, so as it could accommodate more Dublin supporters. Same previously with games moved to Nowlan Park & Portlaoise. The Gaa don't care about the smaller counties as the Dubs are the cash cow & they are happy to give in to the demand for tickets by the Dubs by moving home games for the smaller counties. There is more to Gaa than Dublin even though when you look at the way money is allocated by the Gaa, you wouldn't think it. Bottom line is the Gaa have pumped the largest share of funding into Dublin Gaa & are happy to do so as it brings the biggest revenue & TV figures so they are happily giving them the greatest share of tickets for the Hill, even Stevie Wonder could see this even if you can't. Just like most supporters around the country I'm hoping Tyrone kick seven different types of sh%t out of ye on Sunday. moc.dna (Galway) - Posts: 1212 - 23/08/2017 11:16:06 2036683 Link 0 |

yeah but they cost 45 or something last week and after been there twice over last month surely if was about saving money the mayo supporters would have saved by opting for hill tickets last weekend? two roscommon and two kerry games would cost you a lot more than 80 euro for the stand you could have saved 80 euro going the hill probably. hill16no1man (Dublin) - Posts: 12665 - 23/08/2017 11:44:02 2036701 Link 0 |
wrong for all games tickets are on sale online at gaa.ie and supervalu and centra apart from all ireland finals so anybody can buy them as easy as dublin supporters.

also if it was about cost then why do mayo supporters not complain to their county board that there is no terrace option in mchale park its an all seater so you will always pay the stand ticket price surely thats more of a cost all year than one game in an all ireland final. hill16no1man (Dublin) - Posts: 12665 - 23/08/2017 11:51:25 2036704 Link 0 |
Personally I have a Cairdre Maigh Eo season ticket. I am allocated a lower Cusack ticket. Last time I stood on the hill was the 2013 All Ireland final when I gave my season ticket to my dad (who couldn't stand) and I took the hill ticket.

MacHale Park has one Stand...the rest of the round is priced cheaper "sideline". I get the feeling you just don't like Mayo fans on the hill....which ironically one Dub fan said to me in 2013....are you sure we have not met before ;)
