Read it. He didn't do anything of the sort. He had a little (understandable) dig at Mickey Harte and his juvenile refusal to talk to RTE and Harte's previous put downs of Sunday game pundits as out to make a name for themselves. Still, well done on all the replies professing outrage at O'Rourke casting aspersions on Canavan and all that...

Canavan and the Sky team are great competition for Brolly. and co. As a matter of fact, the latter recycle the former's talking points verbatim. The thing about the regulars on RTE is that you already know what each chap has to say, but they can sneak in the odd derogatory remark every now and then. Michael Lyster is top class though, would love to hear what he really thinks about the elitist spin he has to listen to each week. suckvalleypaddy (Galway) - Posts: 1671 - 27/07/2017 12:02:54 2024386 Link 1 |
Mickey Harte's refusal to talk to RTE is entirely understandable given the fact that the death of his daughter was treated with gross insensitivity by employees of RTE. O Rourke, Spillane and Brolly are not and should not be immune to criticism . They don't seem to be prepared to accept criticism. Michael Duignan has also illustrated that recently . The Sunday Game Live programmes most particularly those programmes that broadcast football deserve criticism
