Yeah I guess it's all relative really. All those serial complainers out there prioritising luxuries like food and shelter.

sure who the hell would have thought that the Mayo v Cork game would end in a draw. Well obviously not SKY or the GAA. s goldrick (Cavan) - Posts: 5518 - 25/07/2017 18:05:36 2023397 Link 0 |

its not justifiable, what is wrong with having an issue with people using the national broadcaster to take pot shots at sky because they are biased against them?..15 mins, stop making it out to be anything more than a trivial error...rte would have not have received the same abuse and you know it...stop pretending like people were seriously inconvenienced, they werent, games are delayed all the time, our own games under pillar were infamous for it at times, it was 15 mins so spare us the false outrage..it is quite clearly whinging, we had 1 guy here claiming he didnt get home till after 12 just because a match was delayed by 15 mins...its a bit much for a guy who isnt a fan of the sky deal taking issue with someone merely saying rte pundits should keep their opinions on sky to themselves instead of resorting to cheap shots, its beneath them

why do you care so much over a 15 min delay to a match that you werent at or effected by in any fashion may i ask?

Just a thought lads but surely in this age of technology Sky could've given viewers the option to either continue watching the Mayo / Cork game or start watching Donegal / Galway with one of them moved to the red button? MedwayIrish (Wexford) - Posts: 2324 - 26/07/2017 07:15:05 2023621 Link 0 |
Thank you. Thought I was going mad, I kept rereading the article to find where he criticised Sky or Peter Canavan. Turns out he never does. Guess people read what they want.

It's clear we aren't going to agree..iv already accepted there was an error but it was no big deal..for reasons unknown you act like it was a huge deal...merely take issue with those using it as yet another excuse to bash sky on the national broadcaster

I imagine gaa is down their list of priorities..and sky certainly aren't the same station they used to be...that premier league tv deal has them cutting costs in a lot of sports outside the premier league stuff lions tour and the open

Although not a massive deal I just haven't completely downplayed it like you. I don't think that errors made by the broadcasters should lead to two senior inter county teams having their game delayed and their preparations interrupted. You disagree and are happy out for that to happen as long as those watching at home aren't inconvienienced. MesAmis (Dublin) - Posts: 13718 - 26/07/2017 20:01:29 2024107 Link 0 |

The fact that, you say, it's happened before only makes it a worse error. I can remember it happening before but usually in the case of a curtain raising game in the same ground going to ET, not a game in another ground. It's you that's dragging it along saying that it's okay that it happened just as long as those watching at home aren't inconvenienced. That's a weird stance but each to their own. Just because other people not me said mean things to you about Sky is beside the point. MesAmis (Dublin) - Posts: 13718 - 26/07/2017 21:35:35 2024161 Link 0 |
Yeah I'd agree with that but end of the day how hard or expensive can it be to set up a red button option? Surely just a couple of clicks and it's done although having said that I don't pretend to be any sort of techie, far from it!
