And I prefer GAA to soccer, that has nothing to do with the points being made. It's actually worrying to think that you are not a child who just really wants nothing more than to play for Dublin. Otherwise you need to get out more, maybe travel a bit, see other cultures, like ROC.

Can't agree with you flaker, I am with hill on this 100%.

Michael Murphy recently took part in a swop with Liam Williams the Welsh rugby player which saw Murph spend time with a professional French team. Murph did very well & was asked if he would consider swopping playing amateur GAA with Donegal for professional rugby & he said no.

The GAA & Donegal were in his blood & knowing hill as I do the GAA & Dublin are part of his DNA & I would have been amazed to have heard him say anything different.

Replying To Aido69:  "I wasn't singling out Donegal people either. But it is a countrywide thing. Most threads on this forum end up in childish whataboutery. It's not just a Dublin thing. Anyway that's me done. We could keep going in circles."
to be fair, its not just Dublin, but there seems to be a contingent from there who can see no wrong in any actions from their countymen.

Murphy is one of the top footballers the country has ever seen. Easy enough to say that all the same when he knows it isn't really an option! The poster I am talking to has had no experience at any level but can say for sure he wouldn't do what Jim did. Like how would anyone know that?

Now I do know that Murphy is a genuine homebird so maybe he wouldn't have gone but it was never an option so it really is easy to say that.

Replying To hill16no1man:  "Again I'll explain this really slow
I prefer gaelic football to soccer
I'm not motivated by money in my life
I would rather do things that make me happy than do things just for money.
I think it says more about your morals if your only motivation in life is money.
I think my family would rather see me happy than do something just for money as they care about my happiness."
the morals bit was sarcasm in case you missed that one, im motivated by plenty of things in life. But while we're on the topic of morals you seem to look down your nose at a man who has a passion for sport and wants to excel past his local area. Just because you dont like soccer you ridicule those that do? How do you know the man isn't happier in Glasgow or wherever he choses to work?

you're talking nonsense, just because JMcG has it easier now doesnt mean he didn't when he was managing Donegal. are those years just erased from existence now to suit your rants?

i think thats an extremely simplistic viewpoint to have, he put his players in the best position to succeed,

What's that got to do with anything relating to the point I was addressing ?

If you're going to come back pretending to be from Dublin at least address me in a manner which actually relates to a point that I'm making.

Cheers"
you said we werent a defence first side, under gilroy we were, and theres no need to try and silence those with a different opinion to you, you belong on a facebook comments section with that kind of attitude

He completely overreacted and he greatly over blew the consequences of Gavin's actions

The language he used was very over top

It was poor effort on his part IMO

The exact same applies to Charlie's effort but he obviously took umbrage to Jim Mc's past effort and decided to throw a bit of much back

Two poor articles"
by mcguinness standards i think the article was a bit overly strong/reactionary, hes normally a decent bit more measured

it really is funny to see this thread turn into an anti mcguinness/anti soccer rant, look what charlie said was stupid and hypocritical seeing the style of play we played under gilroy..the amount of hatred towards mcguinness by certain people i dont quite get or understand

is it really though? If a player from my own county acts a fool I'll call him one. does that mean im not a fan of my county??

Replying To TheFlaker:  "Listen man, your post is so daft it doesn't warrant a response. Unless you are a teenager who has zero life experience then you seriously need to raise your goals for life. Die hard Dubs fan who has no interest in making being a success in a professional sports environment, well done."
So I take it you feel everybody who decided to play inter county and particularly those who played for some 15 years
like andy moran, stephen cluxton, tomas and marc o se had no goals in life.
a gaa person who has little interest in soccer would be more accurate, I know it seems hard for you to understand that.

you prefer gaa to soccer but cannot understand why somebody would rather play gaa than soccer?????????
so anybody who decides to play inter county football is a child in your book?
and your getting me confused with another poster with your rory o carroll references.
for your information i have seen a lot of places around the world no problems there.
