Charlie Redmond's Jim McGuinness comments

(Oldest Posts First) - Go To The Latest Post

Replying To Thomas Clarke:  "Before casting stones, Charlie should remember the depths that he brought Gaelic games to, when he decided to play on for several minutes after being shown a red card for headbutting an opponent in an AI Final."

Replying To eunans4ever:  "Forget about Charlie's comments on Jim..

The comments about Diarmuid Connelly been a victim are nothing short of disgraceful- assault a linesman and they want to get him off on a technicality"
Crime rate must be huge and courts full up your neck of the way if you call that assault,
don't leave the village whatever you do,
and whatever happens don't watch Ghostbusters you'll never get to sleep

The "assault" was so severe that the linesman ran straight out on to the field and informed the referee immediately. The referee then took note of the incident and acted accordingly. Or is that what happened ? Refresh my memory please ..........

Replying To Damothedub:  "I will always respect Charlie the player, never read much that had me over doing the auld grey matter. Regards mcguinness for me I understand in a county were all Ireland's are few and far between why the locals see Jesus The rest of us see a one trick pony a brilliant successful pony , it didn't hang around long enough to show there was more substance ,"
I think he dedicated enough of his life to the GAA and it was time for him to earn for his family. Redmond was a good player but we never saw him beyond this. His opinion is a bit limited but his heart is in the right place.

So Cluxton is an angel and never gets involved with the opposing team according to Charlie Redmond. CR who famously kicked a penalty wide!

The Dubs are now a bit like Cody and the Cats, arrogant and not able to take any criticism.

Couldn't give a toss what anyone outside of Donegal thinks of us, Jim, 2011, whatever. He gives his opinion on the IT and that's a nixer for him now, people can respond all they want and they can respond with outright idiocy if they want, that's their prerogative.

We know Jim's worth to Donegal and Donegal will never forget it. The rest can cry on.

Haha. I thought you northern boys were tougher than that. I was standing in front of the 'assault'. The viciousness of it took my breath away. Nearly as funny as the nonsense been posted by the pseudoDub alano12

As for the subject matter, didn't think a whole lot of Jims original article or Charlies rebuttal. Its that time of the year and paper never refused ink. Breheney in Indo is dishing out All Stars today

If you're going to be quaoting Game Of Thrones

Then come on.. follow in the same spirit and..

Setup man for man versus Dublin...

See where it gets you.

We know exactly what's coming from Tyrone.. a whole pile of goading, getting on our face, 14 behind the ball and counter... even if you find yourself 5 behind you'll continue to play the exact same way

The same old stuff year after year. We're so well versed to it now... you ain't going to be catching anyone out.

We'll be more than ready for more of the same.

We've been tacking criticism as long as we have been playing the game , if you bother to read posts you will note there is many a Dub who has not agreed with Gavin , many have come down fairly harshly on Connolly but hey maybe you couldn't read those posts with the spite and bile welling up your eyes.

Replying To TheRightStuff:  "Laughable from Redmond .

Slating Jim's philosophy of the game - what's that got to do with Connolly .

I wonder how many All-Irelands Jim would win had he a fifth of the resources that Dublin have.

McGuinness had to fund raise on his own , had to contend with half his team living away . Managing Donegal is so much harder than having everything on a plate . How many Dublin players living away from home ?

Easy for Dubs to slate his philosophy considering the endless advantages they have ."
what a pack of rubbish
he upped sticks and went to celtic for money
and a team that had every percievable thing going compared to the mickey mousers in the league they played
now hes gone worse to the mega rich chinese league
yeah jimmy the saint come off it would ya
and while your at it we constantly here the people your part of the world talking about it being a much better quality of life living there
surely that must be an unfair advantage than us poor dubs????????????????????

Listen McGuninness was talking through his hoop about Gavin

He completely overreacted and he greatly over blew the consequences of Gavin's actions

The language he used was very over top

It was poor effort on his part IMO

The exact same applies to Charlie's effort but he obviously took umbrage to Jim Mc's past effort and decided to throw a bit of much back

Two poor articles

I agree, talking about "bringing the game into disrepute" was OTT.

let me get this straight, you would have turned down a lucrative career move to Celtic and China to scrape by in Donegal?? LOL

If you had read my post carefully you'd notice that I was referring to Charlie Redmond's eulogising of Cluxton, I didn't mention your manager or DC. There is no spite or bile in my post. Have a look at the video, hard to argue with video evidence! Obviously not all Dub supporters are arrogant, but there's a large section of the your football supporters who wouldn't be a patch on your hurling supporters when it comes to sporting behaviour in Croke Park.

Just read the article.

I think Charlie is right about Jim Gavin but completely wrong about Jim McGuinness. JMcG is an all-Ireland winning manager.

Jim Gavin had to defend Diarmuid Connolly. What Connolloy did was tiny, he broke a rule, a rule that allows no common sense or understanding of the game. A rule not equally applied to all. I'm not a fan of Jim Gavin at all, but I'm impressed with how he has defended his player and think he was right.

just curious, is Alano having his background questioned because his opinion differs from the standard reactive/defensive Dublin response to criticism?
