Ryan McMenamin is being heavily linked with the vacant Fermanagh football manager's post.

According to the Irish News, the three-time All-Ireland winning Tyrone defender is the frontrunner to replace Rory Gallagher, who he was number two to over the past two years.

Former Kilcoo manager Paul McIver, who along with Dominic Corrigan and Kieran Donnelly has ruled himself out of the running, feels 'Ricey' deserves a crack at the top job.

"'Ricey' has been there and done it at the top level. When I was manager of Dromore, he was captain and I have to say there is no better man," McIver said.

"If he got the job, Fermanagh would be in a great place. He would do everything that is needed to get Fermanagh to where they need to be."
