Banty and Gallagher for Monaghan?

A joint management ticket of Seamus McEnaney and Rory Gallagher has been mooted as a possibility to take over from Malachy O’Rourke in Monaghan.

The Irish News understands that Gallagher – who stepped down as manager of his native Fermanagh on Monday – could be open to linking up with ‘Banty’ in the Farney County.

Corduff clubman McEnaney – who was in charge from 2004 to 2010 before moving on manage Meath and Wexford – is being heavily touted for the job along with Crossmaglen’s Tony McEntee and former Cavan manager Mattie McGleenan, who enjoyed success with Scotstown.
