Fermanagh defender Kane Connor has rallied the troops following their qualifier exit by stating that they have to aim for top flight football in 2020.

Last weekend, Fermanagh travelled to Clones to face Monaghan in the All-Ireland SFC qualifiers, but they came away empty handed as Monaghan took the spoils.

This brought an end to their campaign for the year, but Connor is already looking ahead to next year and revealed his goals to the Fermanagh Herald.

“If you want to be one of the top teams in the country you have to be playing in Division 1,” stated Connor.

“You have to be playing those teams. Cavan took a few tankings during the league, but they were playing the best teams in the country. You should learn from defeats, they have and they are flying at the minute.

“If we want to be one of the top teams in the country we have to go into next year and be a bit more ambitious about contesting and looking to get up to Division 1.”
