An Ríocht u10 Camogie had 2 teams at Sunday’s Blitz with team 1 enjoying games with Liatroim, Dromara and Aghaderg and team 2 enjoying games with Liatroim, Clonduff and Ballycran at which point the heavy rain forced a stop. After the rain both our teams joined together and played a game against Ballygalget before heading home. Thanks to Castlewellan for hosting, thanks for the great support from family members and all the girls  who continued to play even though soaked through!

In the u18 Gaelic we travelled to Bredagh losing the quarter final 1-15 to 1-5.

 

In the u14 Gaelic we played in Ballyholland winning 4-18 to 6-7.

 

At the u10 Gaelic An Ríocht had a good game with Atticall.

 

An Riocht had a walkover in the u14 Camogie v Ballela.

 

The Senior Camogs lost in Clonduff. Team A O’Neill, S Harper, L Rodgers, Clara Killen, N Cunningham, A O’Reilly, M Trainor, P Matthews, M Higgins, S Bowater, Carrie Killen 0-3, L Clarke, Clare Fearon 0-1, Colleen Fearon 1-1, A McDowell 1-1. Subs O McAlinden, C Clarke, C McAlinden. The next league match is home to Ballycran on 10th July. The Championship date is v Portaferry on 7th August.

 

At the Senior Gaelic An Ríocht v Darragh Cross, we played extremely well in patches but conceding 4 goals makes it hard to win. Final score 1-18 to 4-10.

 

The Reserve Gaelic An Ríocht v Loughinisland did not happen as Loughinisland did not travel.

 

At the u12 Gaelic in Shamrocks, we won 1-10 to 0-6.

 

The u6, u8 & u10 Camogs enjoyed the County Board Blitzes in Castlewellan.

 

At the u10 Gaelic tournament in Kilcoo we played games with Bredagh, Naomh Eoin, Liatroim, Tir Na nOg, Eskra Emmetts and Bellaghy.

 

The It’s A Knockout was postponed to later in the summer.

 

The new Club Gear Shop did a roaring trade on Friday and Saturday.

 

There was a big turn-out for the end of school disco on Thursday evening with DJ Alex.

 

The 1-500 raffle was postponed as all tickets were not returned on time; everyone with tickets, sold or unsold, must return them this week so the draw can go ahead.

 

The presentation of OCN Level 2 Youth Qualification certificates took place on Thursday past.

 

There was a small but hard-working crew attended for Clean Up Day on Saturday, thanks.

 

KYC ‘You’ve Got Talent’ show on Tuesdays 30th July, 13th & 27th August for young people of all ages and all abilities.

 

Week 47 (orange) Bingo House £200 Dorothy Curran and Camilla Zimmermann; Week 48 (green) available from McVeighs Costcutter Dunavil, P&J Morgan Newsagent Newry Street, Rafferty’s Garage or the club.

 

Due to demand, registration for the Summer Scheme is extended to the week ending Friday 5th July. There will be NO Youth Club on Tuesday, Thursday and Friday as we will be open 6.30pm to 9pm for registration only and outreach work. Our IMPACT programme will continue as normal on Wednesday with our first boxing session from 7pm to 9pm.

Everyone must be registered before taking part in Summer Scheme activities; please do not turn up on the first day to complete registration as this will not be possible, there will be no registration on Tuesday 9th July. Young people will not be able to take part on the day they are registered, registration must take place in advance; we will not have time to register young people while there are other young people already in attendance to take part in activities.

We will update you further next week in relation to evening activities in the club over the summer months.

An Riocht (Down) Underage Camogie Tournaments take place on Saturday 31 August 2019 - the Patsy Conkey U12 9-a-side and the Sharon Morgan U16 7-a-side. Already entered are Ballinderry, Dromara, Greenlough, Portaferry, Lavey, An Ríocht, Castledawson, Middleton, Loup, Mayobridge and Aghaderg.

 

As part of their outreach to local schools, An Riocht Camogie made presentations to Grange PS, St Colmans PS and Gaelscoil na mBeann; Club captain Colleen Fearon and County star Nicole Kelly did the honours.

 

Kingdom 2 Croker ‘The Traditional Route’ on Saturday 21st September, join us for a walk / run / cycle / solo / relay to Croke Park taking the same route Down’s 5 All Ireland Winning teams took en route to Sam Maguire.
