Donegal coach Colm McFadden was delighted to see the Tir Chonaill men coming away with the win unscathed in yesterday’s Allianz FL Division 2 final against Armagh.

Having led for large portions, Jim McGuinness’s side were made to battle for the title in the end as Aaron Doherty’s 73rd minute point proved the difference for them in a 0-15 to 0-14 victory.

Speaking after the game, McFadden said having every player fit is vital going into their Ulster SFC quarter-final showdown with holders Derry later this month.

"We knew Armagh were always going to be a tough test - they always come back and showed that in the second-half," he told TG4.

"To come through the game without any injuries and with every player still fit is important for us.

"It's nice to win and to get some silverware. I hope it sets us up for the championship - it's three weeks to the Derry game and that's our focus now."
