Naomh Adhamhnáin club notes

November 13, 2018

The U21 Men’s footballers will meet Glenfin in this year’s U21 Div. 1 Championship Final after Glenfin overcame N. Conaill in last weekend’s semi-final. Day, time and venue all still to be confirmed, keep an eye on social media for updates.

The U21 Hurlers had no game last week as Burt were unable to field.

The Minor Girls footballers were well beaten by a very impressive Bredagh team in their Ulster Club Championship quarter-final on Sunday. Nevertheless, it has been a brilliant year for the girls winning the County Minor Championship – with many of the team also winning the U16 title – and going to the CYC’s in Boston, where they also picked up the title.

The Minor Boys Football Development team have a Div. 2 3rd & 4th place play-off v Glenfin scheduled for this Sunday (18th) with time and venue tbc.

The Letterkenny & District Schools League gets underway this Sunday (18th) after it was postponed last week. It’s all boys this week with the girl’s teams on the following Sunday (25th). Games get underway from 10am.

The Friday Evening Hurling & Camogie Academy returns this Friday night (16th) in O’Donnell Park from 6:30pm until 7:30pm. U6’s (born 2013 or after) will train downstairs in the Clubhouse so please wear runners. The U8’s, U10’s & U12’s will train on the AstroTurf Pitch & Hurling Wall so please wear moulded boots (no metal studs) or runners. New members, boys or girls of any age welcome.

Well done to James Connors who was selected to referee the Ulster Senior Club Hurling Final last Sunday.

The club has launched our Super House Draw for 2019 with tickets priced at €100 available from members and in various outlets around town and online via the special Facebook page (www.facebook.com/gaahousedraw/) and website (www.gaahousedraw.com). As always, we are relying on the support of our members to make this a success once again.

If anyone is owed money by the club, please text / WhatsApp Andy McGlynn (086-166 0357) with details asap as all bills are currently being paid.

We send our deepest sympathies to the family, friends and former colleagues of Anjo Duffy, Daly Terrace who passed away suddenly last week. Anjo was a great servant to our club in many different capacities over the years and he will be greatly missed by all who knew him.
