Great piece on the game by Jim McGuinness in the times today. Has to be the match of the season.

J am surprised it took 12 days to get a discussion going on this. A great little country for the nod and a wink.

Replying To Lakers.for.Sam:  "Best of luck to the boys today, as usual I'll be tunin into the wireless from Australia, 10 years here and the only days I'm homesick are Championship days! I like the lineup bar Dempsey, from what I've seen hes very inconsistent and cant understand why Tommy McDaniels didnt get the nod, he was a gun in the league final and I think he's been shooting the lights out at club level? Generally speaking its strongest panel we've had in 8/9 years in my opinion, main problem is getting their heads tuned in. Anyways if you're a Westmeath gael get your backside into Tullamore and cheer the lads on, I would give me right arm to be there, come on the Lake County!"
Enjoy the coverage. Don't be knocking Dempsey A class act in my opinion. Anyway it is a 20 man game now so McDaniels should get on as well.

Apologies I did not realise there was 2 Quigleys. No wonder I thought he was so good. We only have one Heslin for sure. Seemingly he can do the work of three men so hopefully we will be alright.

Westmeath V Armagh 2018 Version - 1 Like(s)
Not the worst Westmeath performance in recent times give the amount of players missing in action. Fair dues to those who stuck it out. I would say about 2000 max at game of which 1500 were from Armagh.

Leinster Football Final. What would be a good outcome? - 1 Like(s)

Replying To LLG:  "I take it you don't consider the performance against Limerick to be progress? I assume that you are commenting from the perspective of somebody who went to the match and saw the contest for what it was and if that is the case then you are fully entitled to your opinion. However, I don't have much time for people belittling a performance based on the final score alone."
You are correct. A lazy comment by me. I have not been to a hurling match in years. I think if we hold the all Ireland football champions to 9 points it will be a good performance.

Plenty of time for negativity afterwards. Now is the time for baseless optimism. Right now anything is possible.

Replying To LLG:  "I guess I need my head examined so. What is the role of a GAA supporter? I believe it is to support the team through thick and thin, not to sit at home and post online attacks on the players. You are welcome to your opinion Mick."
I am with llg on this one. Westmeath are bringing on subs who have never played senior football. Dublin are bringing on all Ireland winners. Great effort to be there. Beats a trip to Pearse Park with the stand closed.

How are Lomans shaping up for Sunday? Simonstown sound like a very strong outfit. Hopefully Lomans don't get ahead of themselves. A Meath victory in Mullingar is the last thing we want.

Football Championship Predictions - 1 Like(s)

Replying To Ban:  "So can we agree that future of Westmeath football does not depend on Mullingar's performance this weekend and maybe take a moment to consider just how great an achievement it was for them to win the County Title this year?"
Indeed has to be appreciated. They also beat the two best teams in Westmeath to do it. They have achieved their goal for the year so hard to see them troubling Moorfield. Still one more surprise would be nice!
